Was at Lancôme counter and the woman said I have dry skin and to use- suprise!- her moisture cream. Have been using Superdrug vit e - love it but I think I need something more heavy duty ! Anyone experience the above cream - sorry dont know which it was - so guess Lancôme in general. Can you get cheap good cream or is it the case of get wot pay for? !

My 56 year old face loves nivea. I have tried all sorts and prices of face creams, but still return to nivea,s range.

No, I go for the white pots. Is it the botanics or naturasls range, or some such title. They do specific day and night creams. It,s about £8 a pot but often on special offer in super drug.

I use boots protect and perfect range. You can buy it on ebay for a fraction of the price in the shops. I am wary of buying products from lancome, clarins etc. They reel you in with their deals and it ends up costing you an arm and leg every month cause you feel you cant live without it. Olay products are not pricey and good. Not sure what range they have for dry skin but you could shop around or go on their website. I use boots no 7 protect and perfect cream but i have combination skin. I really like it but never buy it full price. I just buy it from ebay taking care who i buy it from.

Pixie that's intresting I had not a clue this could be done as assumed via boots only- I do like that product but had to stop using due to cost of my teens needs!

Astral has a much nicer consistency than blue Nivea. I have always used it on my neck, am 49 this year and have the neck of a child I tell ya. the boobs and arse of a hag, but the neck of a child

The Superdrug vit E was far too "light" for me, but if you like Vit E, then the Body Shop intense Vit E is lovely, and smells much nicer than the Body Shop one.

Something else I do once a week or so, is snip open an Evening Primrose oil capsule and slop that on my face.

One of the mid-range moisturisers for dry skin that I really really rate is Neal's Yard Frankincense. It is the Holy grail for me. I treat myself every so often. I have tried Decleor, Elemis, all sorts, but nothing compares IMO.

I think some of the high end creams do do good things to skin, but it's very hit and miss.

L'Occitane Shea butter moisturizer is fab for 50 year old skin, and it's all natural and cruelty-free Smile

ginorwine - you can actually buy no 7 protect and perfect from amazon too but i dont know if its any cheaper. I look at the ratings for the seller and i have to say i have had no issues of things being not the real thing. Ebay does the serum and the moisturiser. I have always bought it from there. I havent had any issue and Its really improved my skin.

My best friend bought me a jar of Neal's Yard Frankincense Nourishing cream for my 50th birthday. I will be forever grateful to her. I can feel my skin saying thank you as I put it on. My skin looks better than ever.

Oh no, not the new super £££s one, the £20 one (about £16 usually on ebay) Frankincense nourishing cream. The hydrating one is lighter.

But am very tempted to treat myself to the posh one next time I get paid.

The Boots Time Delay range is very good & quite a bit cheaper than their No7 creams.
This is gorgeous
And this gets rave reviews.
You don't often have to pay full price as you can use the Boots coupons & the range is very often on half price or 3for2 offers.
