Hey there,

We have our first family photo shoot booked for nxt week. I'm completely stuck of what to wear? Don't want to luck too coordinated or match But do want the photos to come out well?

Any ideas on colours or the sort of thing we should wear. Want a casual natural type of shoot?

Our little man is 10 months

Thank you

DON'T wear the same colour if it's the same item of clothing, ie, don't all wear white T-shirts but DO wear similar colours or plain colours that blend well. Avoid lots of different patterns or fussy clothes.

If you wear jeans every day, then wear these, don't go heavy on the make-up or too styled hair and if a DD, don't put in a fancy dress but something nice that is comfy. If a DS, again something nice but comfy.

Think like you're dressing for Sunday lunch at a really nice restaurant!

Hope the photos turn out well.

I had one done with DD and my mum recently. The studio said no bright colours or patterns. I wore jeans and a long sleeve black round neck top, mum had black trousers with a silver pinstripe and a black short sleeve v neck she was not impressed with her ham arm being on show in some of the shots , DD had jeans and a white short sleeve t. The photographer said pastals are fine, but nothing bright like red or green etc.

Practice laughing on cue, it's very strange!

We had a photoshoot when DS was 7 months and I deliberately picked a navy/white Breton tunic top to wear. Looking back, I don't flinch at the photos because it's such a simple and timeless look.

We had one done last week, I wore jeans and a camel top, dp jeans and brown jumper, ds beige chinos and beige and Blue check shirt, we coordinated but not all in the same colour. Some of the pics were very staged and unnatural, despite meaning to be very natural, but hopefully a few will come out less staged. I don't think I have ever sat on dp's back before whilst casually hanging out Grin.
