I have just realised that after having my son my waist is 34". He is 7!! Before my waist was 28". I only weigh 9lbs more so wtf? What can I do, help me. As they say on Cbeebies 'I am a rectangle'

Kettlebells. Brilliant for working the core and building strength without bulk. Find a class with a trainer that pushes you to use 8kg plus weights otherwise you are wasting your time, learn the exercises that concentrate on the abs and buy a kettlebell for home to do some extra core work and you will have a waist back in no time. I was back into slim fitting skirts after 3 months after my second (had a c-section), it took me a year to get back to normal after my first.

Hula hooping!

Have never tried that. I like the sound of your results though!

Cut out evening carbs, try and find a pilates / circuit training class. I don't know if you drink, but cutting back on the wine helped me ...

I am trying the 30 shred programme by Jillian Michaels.

I don't drink unfortunately. I just had no idea that I had put on 6 bloody inches! Thanks everyone for answering. Will do some research on pilates and 30 day shred...

I also think that it takes at least a year. You didn't mention how long you are post natally... Matt Roberts does a great plan in his Fitness for Life book - lovely recipes and manageable fitness.
Out of interest, what did Paula thingymajig do? The marathon runner? She had 2 kids and is stick thin envy

I'd hazard a guess that she ran marathons then .

30 day shred is great for tummies - I lost inches without losing weight

Callanetics - dated but effective!
