Hi all,
Hoping for some help....
I'm returning to work soon and I really need a pair of smart black trousers. I unfortunately am unable to get into any of my pre pregnancy workwear Hmm so need to purchase something smartish and preferably black or grey. Am about 5' 8 have decent legs but the waist is a huuuuuge problem at the moment. ShockHigh waisted trousers are more flattering as they help to hold me in but I feel so frumpy and old in them.

So far have tried next m and s bit with no luck. Any top tips?

I bought some great slim leg Black work trousers with zip pockets from Wallis recently. My waist is bigger than my usual size for hips (although I am hourglass shaped) and these fitted well.

Gap ultra skinnies and also Mango JAPO trousers. Both are cotton, around the £30 mark. Both lovely and flattering (I am a bit apple-y)

Not sure, but it won't matter as you won't be a 16 there, anyway. Their sizing is insanely big - imagine your real size, and take 1 or 2 down from that.

Gap do American sizes, their 12 is a U.K. 16. Their 10 is a uk 14 etc etc

If you have the cash, try Jaeger. They do great black jersey trousers - good quality fabric, so it holds you in a bit. I have also had a good pair from DKNY in last year or so.

Witchy, I am talking about their UK sizes being insane. I take a UK size 6, which is, I think, a US 2. I am actually 2 sizes bigger than that in lots of other shops.
