Banana Republic sale

Can anyone help me? Because I am mystified.

I was in the Oxford Circus Banana Republic on Saturday morning, and they had loads of lovely things in their sale. I was going out for lunch and to a show (both super, thank you) so I didn't want to be trying things on and lugging bags. I reckoned it would all be online.

Wrong!

There was one particular jacket that they seemed to have about 7 rails of, in every size. Online - only a small size. Trousers reduced to £20 - £40 online. Everything I looked at in the shop seems to be either unavailable or twice the price online.

Am I being naive to expect the same prices and roughly the same stock on the website? Do you think the website stock will change? I can't go back to the shop because I was down from the provinces on a day trip.

Call them. They are affiliated with Gap, and Gap will reduce their online price to match the in store price, so it's worth seeing if BR will, too.

I've had similar conversations with Sainsburys, when I've ordered stuff that hasn't been delivered as "out of stock", when they'd never normally be out of stock in a store.

The answer is that stock in the shops is completely different stock to the stock in the warehouse used for online sales. Whether, in the case of clothing, unsold stock from shops ends up back in the warehouse for online sales is anyone's guess, but the store could probably tell you if you email them.

I have emailed now!

I think ther end result will be "when it's in a sale, strike while the iron is hot" however.
