Can anyone recommend a face moisturiser for very sensitive skin?

Have been using rose day cream light by Dr Hauskha for a few years but my skin is starting to need a bit more (it still feels dry even after I've used it. I used to be able to get away without using a moisturiser every day if ever I forgot but alas my skin now most definitely needs it). Rose cream Dr H is too thick and rich and makes me sweat underneath it.

Every other moisturiser I've tried gives me spots as my skin is very sensitive. It's dry but also has greasy areas.

Any recommendations?

My skin is awful, very dry and patchy but I've started using loreal youth code serum and it's fab! My skin is hydrated and DEFINATELY looks less patchy and red!

Ponds is a good cheap fall back. I know a lot of people with sensitive skin who use it.

I love Dermalogica for my very sensitive dry skin.

Cetaphil is what I use and I can't use anything on my face as it's so sensitive and I break out all the time

Cetaphil is very good for my eczema probe skin. I use it alongside the cleanser. Keeps flakiness and redness away

Does the cetaphil moisturiser make you sweat underneath it? Just looking it up and says it has factor 15, which is good, but this always makes me sweat under a layer of sun protection

For years i've been using Holland and Barrett Wonder Oil at night and Simple Age Resisting factor 15 in the day. Anything else makes me itch or stings or dries out my skin even more. That includes products from Aveda, dr Haushka and pretty much anything from Boots.

I get complimented on my nice skin and never wear foundation so I must be doing something right.

I'll be honest hadn't a clue it had SPF! Bonus if it does. Never felt sweaty or clogged with it x

The Trilogy sensitive range is lovely, I've used the serum for a while & it's really lovely. I often fall back on it if I have a flare up. Have you tried Hydraluron (Bliss labs in boots) or some other hyaluronic acid serum?

I love Celestial from Lush. It's light enough but also really rich - the only thing that stops my face feeling tight. You only need to use a tiny bit.

Eucerin or La Roche Posay. Brilliant.

Cicaplast, LRP. Brilliant.

I always go back to simple if I react to new creams. It's usually fairly safe.

La Roche Posay Toleriane range is fantastic on my super sensitive skin.

I suffer from mild rosacea and use ultrabland by Lush in the mornings and a Boots Botanics one with marshmallow at night.

Everyone will react differently
I have super sensitive skin
I have to avoid any with SPF in them
Simple is terrible for me but I can use the Nivea natural range
Aveeno is great on my body so probably I could use that but now I have found what's ok I never vary

What's your budget?

My mum has very dry skin and swears by Creme De La Mer. The ultra rich one. But my old nanny always used Nivea the one in the blue packaging and I always remember her skin being luscious and soft and I'm sure she had dry skin.

I have v sensitive dry skin and use Avene from boots. Also found the sensitive range of Andrew Weil by it ignis works really well for me. Think it is a bit trial and error with our type if skin- which is hard on our skin and not great penny wise! Hope you find something that suits you soon x n

That should say by 'origins' ...

puddles my current cream is about £20 but doesn't have much in the pack. Creme de la mer is shockingly expensive isn't it? My memories of when I've used the blue nivea cream is that I went really sweaty underneath

I have fairly sensitive skin as well and can't use Nivea or anything like that, but I really like the weleda wild rose day cream, and it's not too pricey, rich enough for the dry patches but doesn't sit on the skin in that sweaty way Wink

Body Shop aloe vera cream. I've tried hundreds, this is the best and least irritating for me.

My skin goes through phases of being really sensitive and, when it's bad, the only thing that works is oil. Not oil in a tiny bottle with a fancy name, just oil from the grocery counter: olive oil (the 'light' version doesn't smell as strong) grapeseed oil, almond oil, coconut oil ... pretty much any kind. In fact I still use it at night, even though my skin is ok at the moment, simply because it's as good as any moisturiser I've ever tried.
