When it's not cold enough for a wooly hat but not hot enough for a sun hat / no hat ?

Do those stretchy cotton hats come in toddler size? My DS is rocking a 6-12m sized one now.

I love those wee hats but can't get them to fit my 16mo giant head grin

TessTackle Mon 24-Mar-14 18:43:59

What about those cute straw fedoras?

Magix Mon 24-Mar-14 18:44:24

The only "stretchy cotton hat" a toddler is going to wear is a pair of pants. Bet he would keep them on, and you could blame the headgear on him! grin

Polarn o pyret do the stretchy cotton hats in big sizes.

Chewbecca Mon 24-Mar-14 19:09:50

Nothing?

CamillaCamellia Mon 24-Mar-14 19:12:23

I put on a coat with a hood or a jumper with a hood. Keeps them warm outdoors.

DD has a hooded coat, a hooded raincoat and a fleecy hat from jojomamanbebe. The hoods work well in case of wet or blowy spring days.

Hood of their coat or cardi if there's a stiff breeze and nothing if there isn't. It was bad enough trying to keep a hat on her in the winter.

bonzo77 Mon 24-Mar-14 19:29:12

No hat. DS2 has very fine curls. No hat most of the winter, none at all recently. Maybe the hood up on his hoodie.

Dancergirl Mon 24-Mar-14 20:01:27

Ermm, nothing. Why would you??

CoolaSchmoola Mon 24-Mar-14 20:11:58

Not cold enough for a wooly hat, not warm enough for a sunhat?

It's obvious - not too cold/not too hot = no hat!

mewkins Mon 24-Mar-14 20:25:54

Dd wears a straw trilby. She loves it and would wear it all year if I let her. H and m often have very cool kids' hats.

PastaandCheese Mon 24-Mar-14 20:38:17

I just make sure she has a hood as others have said.

Alibabaandthe40nappies Mon 24-Mar-14 20:39:53

No hat.

Mine generally have either a coat or a jacket with a hood, so they are ok if it rains or suddenly gets colder.

MyNameIsSuz Mon 24-Mar-14 20:42:12

Mine's generally got nothing on his bonce at the moment, but if you're looking for stretchy cotton hats up to age 2 we got a couple of nice ones from Funky Giraffe. I agree with everyone else that a hat's probably not necessary, but we've been using them when we go to the seafront because it's super windy and makes his ears hurt.

Trilby
Flat cap
Pixi style crochet hat

Nocomet Mon 24-Mar-14 21:24:55

I had total hat refusnicks, DD would wear a sun hat for 5 minutes, DD2 0.5 seconds.

Of course as a teen DD2 wears a wooly hat on all sorts of weird times.
