Wedding dress that doesn't need to be a wedding dress

What sort of shops should I be looking at for a wedding dress that doesn't need to be a wedding dress?

I think grecian style would be the closest to the sort of thing I'm looking for.
White is nice but not adverse to cream or even a gentle aqua (is this a huge no?!), strapless and some under bust detail would be nice.

If you have seen anything like this, where?

I'm also open to other ideas, I'm a size 8, 5ft 5.

What sort of budget? Netaporter or The Outnet online can be good. Saw this

Only about £200 sad

where As you are looking for something quite specific, then would you maybe think of getting a local dressmaker to run something up? This way you'll get exactly what you want!

Try House of Fraser - lots of lovely ones here

Amazon have some you might like. This one is strapless and Grecian like in style.

Whereisegg Mon 24-Mar-14 12:55:32

Holly - is that doable on £200?!

Heir - loving some of those smile

hollyangel Mon 24-Mar-14 12:56:57

I think it is if you don't say it's a wedding dress!

Found this one on ebay too

I got married in a monsoon dress. It was lovely - weddingy but not a meringue and really pretty. I think I paid about £180.

Capsium - Amazon! I never EVER would have thought to look there.

You people are so lovely, we are getting married in August (decided last night!) and the help here is invaluable in not letting me soend all of my life til then trawling the Internet/panicking grin

On the House of Fraser website, saw this fab dress.

Would definitely wear something like this if getting married again, would be fabulous. V like Jenny Packham dress at fraction of price.

Ffs, I thought having help like this would keep me calm.
My heart is racing and I'm stupidly excited now, better not have a coffee grin

ThefutureMrsTatum Mon 24-Mar-14 13:07:39

I got mine from coast, it was 180. I also found some I liked in monsoon at the time.

hollyangel Mon 24-Mar-14 13:08:05

where You should be stupidly excited, you're getting MARRIED, which is fantastic news!!! Enjoy every second of it...

BecauseIsaidS0 Mon 24-Mar-14 13:09:09

Whereisegg Mon 24-Mar-14 13:10:02

Whereisegg Mon 24-Mar-14 13:10:45

Heir, just bought a dress from your link.
Nothing grecian or art deco about it, but I love it!!!
