Or would it be literally dressing in a plastic bag? I have come to that point when I genuinely don't know if a garment is a great idea, or a very, very bad one. Opinions? This one is Topshop

No, no, no grin. Sorry, it's awful.

Plumpcious Thu 20-Mar-14 16:23:01

Wouldn't you just be a sweaty mess after 10 minutes of wearing that?

Beeyump Thu 20-Mar-14 16:28:32

Yes, I'd probably squeak as well. But there's something about it that calls me. This pink one doesn't have the same draw, thankfully.

Don't do it, if you get even moderately warm from walking or cycling eg, it will steam up inside.

turkeyboots Thu 20-Mar-14 17:29:32

I had a blue one of those when I was 6. It was horribly sticky and condensation built up inside, wasn't nice.

BadgersRetreat Thu 20-Mar-14 17:31:09

Yikes! I think if a model looks shit in the ad wearing something it's best to steer clear grin

MrsMarigold Thu 20-Mar-14 17:33:45

dreadful - sorry.

Onesieone Thu 20-Mar-14 17:33:51

You're kidding? It's really horrible. Please don't do it.

PlumBear Thu 20-Mar-14 18:39:07

See, I love them. Esp the pink one. But then, I have a thing about plastic macs (sounds wrong blush I had one when I was little, which I ADORED. Prob not the right reason to get one now one, though...

Just out of interest - what would you wear underneath? If I was to get one, I'm thinking maybe just jeans and a simple t-shirt? although DH would still disown me

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes Thu 20-Mar-14 18:41:48

oh dearie me no

burnishedsilver Thu 20-Mar-14 18:51:16

I had a clear one when I was about 6 too.

Beeyump Thu 20-Mar-14 19:00:51

Mm, I like the idea of pairing it with jeans and t-shirt yes. grin

Beeyump Thu 20-Mar-14 19:02:36

Also, PlumBear, I'm going through this 'thing' with jelly shoes just now as well. It's hard to explain. sad

diddlediddledumpling Thu 20-Mar-14 19:04:07

I like it. I couldn't carry it off myself, but I think it could look very fashion forward, on the right outfit which is not my regular jeans and trainers combo

Beeyump Thu 20-Mar-14 19:06:11

I love your link! I have a new gingham skirt which is just crying out for the clear plastic mac I think...

I have always though clear plastic macs are seriously cute, but hard to pull off.I almost wish I could pull something so crazy off but couldn't!!!

Jellykat Thu 20-Mar-14 22:13:14

grin I used to wear one as a 16 year old back in 1979, believe me they steam up pretty quickly, which is NOT a good look.. Refrain IMO

Once again, in case the message was lost.

Beeyump Thu 20-Mar-14 23:16:54

Hahaha! Oh, folks, I think it's the steaming up thing that will ultimately put me off. I still have a hankering.
