Do such a thing exist?

I'm after a pair of loafers, either a dark patent or a neutral colour, but all the ones I've seen look a bit frumpy!

Any ideas?

Oh me too! Sorry no help, but I want some as well. I would even maybe like a smallish heel too I think.

Boden ones are quite nice, not many sizes left though.

Hmm, just found these in the Hobbs sale:

Can't decide if I like them or not....

They come in other colours but they're £169!

Russell and Bromley. But not cheap.

shock Blimey they're all so £. So much for 'penny' loafersgrin

I am wearing these at the moment these are not 'frumpy'

I also have the below and they are reasonably priced.

I think I'm on the wrong thread.

The Russel and Bromley Chester loafers are fab. Not massively cheap but I think they'd last forever.

Dancergirl Thu 20-Mar-14 11:19:57

So am I clowns I wouldn't say £245 for a pair of shoes is reasonable!

Dancergirl Thu 20-Mar-14 11:21:28

I quite like the shape of the Russell and Bromley Chester loafers but I don't like the tassels!

No tassels!

What do you all think of the Hobbs ones?

Puddles1234 Thu 20-Mar-14 11:25:46

How much do you want to spend?

I assumed that you didn't have a budget in mind since none was specified my apologies no offense was intended.

I just gave examples of loafers I personally have which are not frumpy.

QueenofallIsee Thu 20-Mar-14 11:28:03

I have these and I love all Charlotte Olympia shoes though and any excuse to buy them!

Shimmyshimmy Thu 20-Mar-14 11:31:14

I tried the loafer look - it makes me look frumpy. So I've decided it's not the shoe that is the issue but whether you can wear a classic look without looking dull and frumpy.
The Tod's driving loafers almost make me come out in a rash they are so awful...They are what the typical rich old lady with a quilted jacket wears around here.

Puddles1234 Thu 20-Mar-14 11:36:26

QueenofallIsee I have those also and like you adore all Charlotte Olympia shoes/bags. They are adorable.

I am not sure if OP wants to spend that much on shoes however but I have added the link just in case.

Shimmyshimmy Thu 20-Mar-14 11:45:38

I am lusting after a pair of Nicholas kirkwood's, anyone seen anything pointy?

Dancergirl Thu 20-Mar-14 11:48:00

I think that's beyond my price range but thanks for the link anyway.

Ideally I don't want to spend much more than £100 but might consider more if I really liked them.

QueenofallIsee Thu 20-Mar-14 11:51:44

Shimmy, The Outnet have some Nicholas Kirkwood flats in...I heart the pastel pink ones!

Puddles1234 Thu 20-Mar-14 11:55:12

Dancergirl Hobbs loafers are nice and bargain at £99.

Shimmyshimmy You are certainly right on one point its completely down to the individual if they make Loafers/Slippers/Drivingshoes look frumpy. I love my Tods driving shoes and I am in my 20's.

Shimmyshimmy Thu 20-Mar-14 11:59:59

Puddles - My friend's mother used to wear Tod's - they are over 60's footwear IMO - no idea how you pull them off in your 20's because they are so frumpy but no doubt you can if you are wearing them, well done! grin

Puddles1234 Thu 20-Mar-14 12:15:11

Shimmyshimmy I wear them with cigarette trousers and a Chanel/Balmain jacket paired with a tote such as Birkin/Kelly and its a nice comfortable outfit especially since I am pregnant. Although my Mum and Granny do wear them also.

Shimmyshimmy Thu 20-Mar-14 12:31:10

When I was pregnant my feet were so swollen I had to wear Dh's shower shoes. envy

It's official.Style/taste and money do not go hand in hand.pmsl at some of those shoes...

Anyway,op I have had the same problem trying to find nice (not batshit crazy ' I'm so twee') ones, although I wanted a bit of a heel too.Haven't had much luck but am marking my place (and sniggering)

Wow TripTrap, that's a nice attitude to take.
