Loafers that aren't frumpy?

Do such a thing exist?

I'm after a pair of loafers, either a dark patent or a neutral colour, but all the ones I've seen look a bit frumpy!

Any ideas?

Hmm, just found these in the Hobbs sale:

Can't decide if I like them or not....

They come in other colours but they're £169!

I am wearing these at the moment these are not 'frumpy'

The Russel and Bromley Chester loafers are fab. Not massively cheap but I think they'd last forever.

I quite like the shape of the Russell and Bromley Chester loafers but I don't like the tassels!

How much do you want to spend?

I assumed that you didn't have a budget in mind since none was specified my apologies no offense was intended.

I just gave examples of loafers I personally have which are not frumpy.

I have these and I love all Charlotte Olympia shoes though and any excuse to buy them!

I tried the loafer look - it makes me look frumpy. So I've decided it's not the shoe that is the issue but whether you can wear a classic look without looking dull and frumpy.
The Tod's driving loafers almost make me come out in a rash they are so awful...They are what the typical rich old lady with a quilted jacket wears around here.

QueenofallIsee I have those also and like you adore all Charlotte Olympia shoes/bags. They are adorable.

I am not sure if OP wants to spend that much on shoes however but I have added the link just in case.

I think that's beyond my price range but thanks for the link anyway.

Ideally I don't want to spend much more than £100 but might consider more if I really liked them.

Dancergirl Hobbs loafers are nice and bargain at £99.

Shimmyshimmy You are certainly right on one point its completely down to the individual if they make Loafers/Slippers/Drivingshoes look frumpy. I love my Tods driving shoes and I am in my 20's.

Puddles - My friend's mother used to wear Tod's - they are over 60's footwear IMO - no idea how you pull them off in your 20's because they are so frumpy but no doubt you can if you are wearing them, well done! grin

Shimmyshimmy I wear them with cigarette trousers and a Chanel/Balmain jacket paired with a tote such as Birkin/Kelly and its a nice comfortable outfit especially since I am pregnant. Although my Mum and Granny do wear them also.

When I was pregnant my feet were so swollen I had to wear Dh's shower shoes. envy

It's official.Style/taste and money do not go hand in hand.pmsl at some of those shoes...

Anyway,op I have had the same problem trying to find nice (not batshit crazy ' I'm so twee') ones,although I wanted a bit of a heel too.Haven't had much luck but am marking my place (and sniggering)
