Work clothes for autumn colouring

Hi
I desperately need some work clothes and thought I'd make more effort to get clothes in colours that suit me. Most of my current work stuff is black & navy and makes me look unwell!

Could any fellow autumns give me some ideas what to buy or where to look? My budget is kind of next, m&s prices but I've looked at both of them online and nothing really stood out as being right for me.

I don't want loads of work clothes just a few things in colours that make me look alive and that go together. Thanks

What sort of clothes are you talking about? Formal jackets and skirts? Or relaxed cardies and trousers?

It's all about wearing "your colours" near your face, isn't it? So presumably you are only looking for new tops, yes?

More towards the cardies & trousers than too formal. I also like dresses these days for work. I hardly have any clothes that fit me now after second dc and what does is old and tatty. I just want to start to build a new wardrobe and help me feel confident that I look nice when I go to work.

Hi Jemster, this dress is a lovely brick red and v flattering on. It also comes in an old gold. m-uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_1,mon_1.2/5531660908

I have also found some Audrey Hepburn esque smart ankle crop trousers in forest green, walnut Brown and aubergine (called raisin). All of them are in the sale at Lands End (yes really!) for twenty quid each.

I also suggest you post this on the Autumns thread for lots more traffic. There's not much those ladies can't sort!

I've got lots of stuff from H&M recently. Including a silky blouse in kingfisher type colour, a pencil skirt in light beige (matched one of the colours but can't remember the name!). They also have t shirts and cardies in lots of autumn shades. I know the quality can be a little hit and miss but might tide you over while you build up your autumn wardrobe.
