Shampoo Brands

After various shampoos were being recommended by friends that they find quite good, i thought id see what shampoos everyone on here recommends.

Question 1) what brand of shampoo do you use ?

Question 2) why do you use that brand ?

Question 3) what are the main features, you like about the shampoo ?

Boots naturals shampoo, silicone free, smells lovely, only need a little bit and my hair is in better condition and more manageable.

Mane and Tail. I first bought it (in the States) because of the picture of horses on the bottle, which I thought was hilarious! (no joke) But then I realised it's actually bloody brilliant for my long, wavy hair. I like it because it gives good body but is also very moisturising. I order it off Amazon now.

Naked rescue shampoo and conditioner, it's sulphate/silicone free (curly hair) and often on 3 for 2 in Boots.

I like it because it contains no harmful chemicals and is natural. It smells lovely and really cleans hair well

VO5, it's great, cheap as chips and leaves my hair nice and soft.

If I was buying something expensive, I'd go for Liz Earle, it's lovely but pricey.

Aveda Shampure - it's the only thing that doesn't make my head itch after a few washes. M mum bought me the Aveda Rosemary &mint, so will be trying that shortly.

I think they are sulphate free, or maybe it's SLS free. Good anyway!

I use whatever's on offer! Usually the likes of Pantene, Aussie miracle, tresseme etc.

I have just swapped from Tigi Bedhead to Toni and Guy (bought in Boots). It is much cheaper, washes all the gunk out my hair without having to repeat it, the conditioner leaves my hair soft and tangle free and it all smells gorgeous. What's not to love?!

Aussie luscious long shampoo. Smells lovely and manages to makes my scalp feel really clean but not dry out the ends of my hair. Sometimes use Aveda Shampure but always have to wash twice with this to feel clean.

Always followed by Sebastian colour ignite conditioner which us a thick mousse that rinses out easily, detangles and smooths but doesn't weigh down my hair.

Philip Kingsley Itchy Flaky Scalp - the only product to properly sort out my dandruff. Plus his No Scent No Colour conditioner. It's pricey but I buy litre bottles that last for months.

Redken extreme, and touch of silver once a week (I have a platinum/silver/lavender pixie cut)

Why.... Because the protein stops my hair breaking off when I change the colour practically fortnightly
My hairdresser said it was good and it is. I also use the CAT treatment spray and sometimes rotate with a moisturising one to stop it becoming brittle- I have the silicone free loreal, or a Schwarzkopf shampoo and conditioner.
Some tressemme knocking about that I use to strip the colour out, or to mix the directions colour into.

Redken products are amazing. Ive never used anything else since I started using Redken 2 years ago - the results are so obvious from first use. I use Redken Extreme shampoo and the All Soft conditioner. The masks are great as well.

Aveda Scalp Benefits - is truly amazing and although pricey worth every penny to me. Not only has it calmed my scalp psoriasis more than any prescription treatment it had made my usually dry frizzy hair smooth and swishy. I can't recommend it enough

Blue Malva by Aveda, great for taking the brassy tones out of bleach blonde hair. Smells great and a litre bottle lasts agggesss!

Another Aveda here, I use the volumising shampoo & conditioner. Pricey but worth every penny!

Just started using Naked shampoo and conditioner, the one for dry, frizzy hair as i have frizzy hair (which is more on the greasy side but I prefer to treat the frizz lol).

I use it as it's SLS free and I'm allergic to most shampoos so get eczema on my scalp otherwise.

I do like it but as it doesn't have SLS (it's the stuff that makes shampoo foam) I sometimes have to repeat 4 times to get my hair clean and with long thick hair and then having to condition it's quite tedious. I was using happy hair days but got an argon oil one and just made my hair greasy. But that foamed up really well. Not sure I will rebuy the naked one as it's expensive and going down quickly.

for the price of that blue malva isn't it worth getting a colourist to sort out the 'brassieness' it's about thirty quid isn't it!

i like klorane cammomile, little goes a long way. it's just very nice.
