how tall does someone need to be to wear a midi skirt?

I'm size 18 & 5ft 8 & really want a midi skirt or dress as have bad legs/knees with lovely varicose veins that I'd rather hide. Is there a best size to be? Also, has anyone seen any good ones (on a budget!)?

Mind you, I've just bought a maxi skirt and I'm 50 so what do I know!!

It depends on how 'midi' it it. I have a couple that are a few inches below the knee and they are fine, but need heels. Am 5'2 too.

They can be a bit stumpifying if you're not tall. Best solution is to wear heels, as Remus suggests.

I'm 5'3" and size 8-10. I think immediately below the knee is fine but any longer and I start to look like I'm in one of those distorting mirrors. Mind you, I don't wear heels unless they're a couple of inches max and very chunky. But just try on; it will also depend on the shape and how you wear it.

I'm 5 3'' and slight and have a couple of midi length dresses for summer. They have a waist so pull in neatly there and I wear them with flats for day or possibly a tiny heel of some sort depending on my feet pain level! Think it depends on your style tbh as my dresses are not new for this summer, have had them couple of years and they suit me.

I am 5 2" and size 8 - 10 and I would never EVER wear a skirt which is more than an inch or two below my knees. I look like a barrel !!

Completely depends on style.

I am 5 foot 1 inch tall, and I have a lovely full length midi dress. Heavy jersey fabric, black and white all over pattern. I love it. I don't feel at all short in it. I am a size 10 , if that makes any difference.
