Rose-flavoured perfume help please

DidoTheDodo · 11/03/2014 13:42

For the past few years I have used Vera Wang "Truly Pink" as my summer perfume. It is light and smells of roses (which I love).

Of course, it is now discontinued and I am coming to the end of my saved stocks.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a replacement please?

I like Paul Smith Rose. Very light and fresh and as the name says, smells of lots of lovely roses

There's an amazing one Space NK do - think it's their own. It's gorgeous.

Another one for Paul Smith Rose - it has notes of green tea, and just smells so fresh and lovely!

Thank you ladies. Looks like it's the Paul Smith one then.
But since I work not far from a Space NK I shall venture in there too. (Although they normally scare me in there!)

I love roses too and I always come back to YSL Paris.

I Like Paul Smith Rose too but if you want to try something else Roses de Chloe is new and smells lovely and fresh. A more complex/expensive one is Lipstick Rose by Frederic Malle, has a hint of raspberry and is bit more vintage and his Une Rose definitely worth a sniff too.

this is an interesting article with some other rosy ideas

I like the Jo Malone one, love rose scents!

Not tried Paul Smith but will have a sniff next time I'm in town...

There's a Stella McCartney one that is a very strong rose scent - Rose Absolute.

I've just ordered some Paul Smith Rose (found it online at a v good price so thought it was definitely worth a punt!)

Thank you so much for your help, everyone.

Paul Smith Rose gives me a headache, it's a shame as I like the smell of roses, but find it too heavy and cloying.

Bvlgari Rose Essentialle - A friend of my SIL wears it and it is very subtle and quite lovely.

I suspect I may be working my way through several versions of rose perfume after all your help!
Hoping the PS one doesn't give me a headache! I'll let you know how I get on.

Paul smith Rose. Lovely. A light (light) touch is needed!

Paul Smith Rose or the Stella McCartney Rose one are both gorgeous. DH got me Armani Diamonds Rose for Christmas, which is also very nice!

Yves Rocher, Rose Fraiche. It's not as sweet as some and often reduced.

I really like La Rose, by Lyn Harris (of Miller Harris fame) for M&S. I think it is a grassy rose; it starts of as a green rose note but warms into rose with a sweet hay note in the background (neat trick). Think they may be in process of discontinuing as it's been half price for a while and it's out of stock on-line (but still in my local stores). So a bit of a bargain... www.marksandspencer.com/lyn-harris-la-rose-eau-de-parfum-50ml/p/p22157727

Basenotes has a brief descripton: www.basenotes.net/ID26137032.html

Another vote for Jo Malone. I like loccitane but find it does not last as long on me as the Malone.
