I was wondering if I could pick your brains as to some suitable outfits for a job I'm starting in a few weeks. It's a R&D scientist position in a company and previously I've been in Universities where the dress code is very lax (anything goes and the engineers generally wear tracksuits on the days that they will be inside machines etc).
However I think as I'm moving into 'industry' I should be dressing a bit smarter than my standard jeans/casual dress attire. I'm not allowed to wear heels or open shoes (e.g. ballet flats) which makes it a bit difficult when I'm trying to put together smarter outfits and as I'll 'doing stuff' in the lab for a lot of the time I need outfits that aren't too restrictive/uncomfortable.
Does anyone have any suggestions, or work in a similar environment and can give me any help??
