im not huge - im a size 14. i weigh 10 and a half stone and im 5ft 4.

but this is big for me - im small framed. i used to weigh 7st 4.
even up to being 35 i was 8st 7.
now no matter what i do, i seem stuck at this weight. im quite fit. i exercise.

so at what point do i just accept that this is it.....in reality if i did lose weight now i would only want about 10lb off....but nothing comes off now, no matter what diet, what exercise. ive been like this for the last 7 years.
i hadnt bought clothes properly for years - the odd thing here or there - because i kept putting off buying things for "when i lose weight" in january this year i had an operation that involved losing part of my stomach - nothing to do with weight loss - but one of the side effects was meant to be weight loss....i waited with baited breath.
not a oz! i actually weigh more now than before the op!

ive just had spending spree on clothes and shoes. i would like to be 10lb lighter but i think im starting to accept its not going to happen. i dont look bad....i have a slim upper body and slim legs - i just have a fat middle!

so.
at what point do you accept the "self" you in your mid 40's. i feel like im constantly waiting for things until i lose that illusive 10lb.....

Please live now. Even if that just means buying clothes you love. This is your life, happening now, make the best of it!

I have put things off for different reasons, for years, and now have regrets.

Another huge vote for living now. Don't put your life on hold, time passes so quickly. Enjoy life and don't let this one issue take over your life :)

Have you had your thyroid checked? An inability to lose weight is a side effect of an under active thyroid.

Aside from that, totally agree with the other posters. Live for now!

Go and buy clothes that make you look good now! I have been wearing unflattering clothes for so long waiting for when I lose weight and I had enough, bought new clothes then started slimming world, so ironically have started losing weight. I just wish I had not kept saying 'when I lose weight I will..."

I would also agree with living now and enjoy the clothes you have just bought.

However if you are really unhappy and want to change it, keep a food diary. It is actually amazing how much we do eat without realising it. Maybe download an app like My Fitness Pal and keep track of the actual calories you are eaing. It might surprise you. If that's all good and you are not eating more than you thought (apparently I can only eat 1700 calories a day without gaining wait, not the average 2000 for women - because of my height/weight/activity level) then perhaps you need to get your thyroid checked.
I have been having a winter love with food and it's got to stop Smile

The irony is that if you decided to dress better and live for now, then you would almost certainly look the elusive 10 pounds lighter anyway!
