I am getting married abroad this summer, and want a very unusual dress. I am currently a size 14 but hope to trim down a but!

I love this dress
Hopefully that link will work! I can't find out where to get the dress from.. any ideas? Or any similar dresses for inspiration?

am so glad you didn't buy the first green one - in the flesh they are v cheap looking. The elasticated bodice at the back is not good. I love the one you have bought, massive improvement.

Yep, to cerise shoes rather than red.

FreakinScaryCaaw Thu 27-Feb-14 18:17:25

Nice shoes only size 6 though. my size I'm ordering some blush

MrsLettuce Thu 27-Feb-14 14:43:47

Sorry! The back of the CB dress is what I meant to post

MrsLettuce Thu 27-Feb-14 14:42:25

Agree with FreakinScaryCaaw about cerise / puce coloured shoes working better than red.

MrsLettuce Thu 27-Feb-14 14:39:32

Ooh, that's lovely! If it doesn't fit and all else fails courtesan boutique do one that's very similar to that except with a draped neckline and the scarfy 'tail' are attached rather than being a separate scarf (think I linked it earlier). One of the colours it comes in is very similar indeed to the one you've ordered.

FreakinScaryCaaw Thu 27-Feb-14 14:33:21

i quite like this colour. Not so much the shoes.

DangerousMouse Thu 27-Feb-14 09:42:54

It's got a very pretty back swell, I don't know how to get photos on the thread but it has a long trailing scarf, beautiful, so pleased with it!

DangerousMouse Thu 27-Feb-14 09:40:35

Yes, the one in the photo, I just hope I can fit into it! So what do you think for shoes then? The criteria is a bright colour and must have a strap over the top of the foot (not sure what this is called in shoe terms!)

I'll definitely take it to a good dress maker to have it made to fit me properly, the shirred thing sounds like its a good thing, will see when it comes! How exciting..

OP have you ordered the dress in YouAreTalkingRubbish's photo????

If so, that is bloody gorgeous! envy

I hated the first green one blush. Major upgrade.

I'm all for contrasting shoes but definitely not red. Too clashy.

Trumpton Thu 27-Feb-14 09:22:54

Shirred means elasticated with fine elastic thread. I would be tempted to underline with a piece of fabric of the correct size to stabilise it.
The outer cover of the dress looks as if it conceals the shirring.

FreakinScaryCaaw Thu 27-Feb-14 08:53:37

Red shoes with the blue dress?

I thought that momb it didn't look like ti would hold me in very well grin

DangerousMouse Thu 27-Feb-14 08:25:31

Oh my goodness.. I've just ordered it! so, red shoes? I need some with a strap over the top of the foot as we have about a million steps to climb to get to the venue.

momb Thu 27-Feb-14 08:23:56

Not read the whole thread but be aware that Cherlone dresses have a, elastic smocked back so don't fit as snuggly as the photos. They're a bit like dressing up outfits in adult sizes.

DangerousMouse Thu 27-Feb-14 08:21:15

What does shirred fitted bodice mean Trumpton? Surely I'll be busting out of the zip though?!

Trumpton Thu 27-Feb-14 08:04:05

The fact that it says shirred fitted bodice might mean you won't need to alter it at all. It's beautiful . Please wear it with red shoes.

What do you think of this one?
I have it in my 'cart'.. should I? I'd need to get it altered as I doubt I can get my waist that trim, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
