Dress me for a ball!

AcaciaBeez · 19/02/2014 19:05

Please could I have some help, I have a ball coming up and I have no clue what to wear. Although it's a ball it won't necessary need to be all formal although I'm sure some people will some wont.

I am a size 8-10 but hate having arms or legs on show so normally wear long dresses with cardigans. I have no clue what I'm looking for so I just need some help even refining a style I think.

Thanks for any help!

So, long with sleeves but not too formal, right? Tricky!

how's this?
THe black version of this? Can you manage a 1/2 sleeve?
1/2 sleeve again
I like this but you'd need to be tall not to be swamped
like this a lot too

Ooh the kimono one is interesting Thanks I think I'll look at that one more

Here are some ones I think I can manage -the ones without sleeves I'd have to wear something to cover up

One

TWO

Three

Four

Five

Six

Seven in champagne or navy

Does anyone have any ideas which one would be best? I'm so bad at style!

Can you order several and return the ones you don't choose? A plain coloured, long with a cover up isn't really a good look for (semi)formal, IMHO. Best just to go with sleeves.

I'd be tempted to try the kimono one (if you can do very high heels).
Also your number 4
the shape of 8 is nice but it looks really transparent

I rather like this but I'm not convinced that it's well enough cut for that fabric.
this has got to be worth a try (sorry just realised these tow lonks are in euros.
this too
this is nice
and one more

Thanks for the suggestions! As you said I think I'm going to buy a few and try them on and return as appropriate

I really like two of them although one of them is only aailable in 4-6 so may get the six and see if I can squeee in, not sure if that's a good idea but can onlyl try!
