I asked before but I'm asking again, what shoes shall I wear with this dress for a wedding?

It's for an all day wedding so I need to be comfy so not spiked heels.

I saw some lovely peep toe wedge sling backs in black suede but they've sold out?

Any ideas please. I'm going to wear black tights possibly seamed.

Clarks have some nice retro looking shoes in suede. I never normally shop in there-bit frumpy for me- but I bought the opera ticket shoes in red in the sale. I think they still have them in black and they also have ones called Chorus ticket which are vintage looking too.

Black kitten heels would be great. I'm a massive fan of seamed hosiery but I think it's probably best to stear clear with the lace and tulle. Fine, nude fishnets would eb very nice with it.

Do you need a cover up or bag? Hat?

NoArmaniNoPunani Mon 17-Feb-14 20:48:39

I'd go for flat or low heeled Mary Janes with that dress

MrsLettuce Mon 17-Feb-14 20:50:26

Yes, you're right Punani. T-bar would also work but not peeptoes.

Ledkr Mon 17-Feb-14 21:01:38

Oh now I'm confused, don't need a hat or cover as we are staying in the hotel, I have a black shrug.

Didn't imagine flat shoes with it either, I need a bit of height I feel, are kitten heels slightly unflattering on the calf which ain't my best feature.

So you think nude tights then.?

MrsLettuce Mon 17-Feb-14 21:05:12

low t-bat in either the black or the red mix
these or these if you're tiny of foot
similar but not sale

any of those owt like?

MrsLettuce Mon 17-Feb-14 21:10:05

x post. sorry! WIll look for a bit more height.

Nude fishnets, fine ones.

MrsLettuce Mon 17-Feb-14 21:10:22

Micronet. that's the word blush

Ledkr Mon 17-Feb-14 21:17:39

I think I have some of those.
Yes I've got annoyingly chunky calves so do need some height.

MrsLettuce Mon 17-Feb-14 21:21:58

I'm struggling a bit TBH, it's a tricky dress. What sort of wedding is it (IYSWIM)? What sort of people?

Primadonnagirl Mon 17-Feb-14 21:24:36

Wow that's a fab dress!! I think you do need a heel with it though .May blavk suede courts if you need tights or a black strap sandal or mule if you dare go bare legged.i think black is the only colour..but once again fab dress!!

Ledkr Mon 17-Feb-14 21:34:17

Thanks. It's gorgeous on too and so flattering.

It is indeed tricky tho.
It's my sils wedding in a hotel and fairly small with an evening do. My girls are bridesmaids smile so ill be on my feet all day.
My pils are fairly used to me being slightly unconventional.
I have seen some nice sling backs which I thought might be cool.

Primadonnagirl Mon 17-Feb-14 21:37:09

Sling backs would be good..dress has a 50s vibe so they would go well

MrsLettuce Mon 17-Feb-14 21:39:56

Slingbacks might work, as long as they're a bit unconventional - I fear 'straight' shoes could send the look a bit, erm, awry.

I love the 50's shape in a dress, it really does work wonders and comfy too. I think it's the combo of black and red and lace and tulle that makes it a difficult one.

AndIFeedEmGunpowder Mon 17-Feb-14 21:45:25

Ooh I think peep toe black sling backs would be perfect! They had some in primarni last week that were actually really nice.

V. Pretty dress you will look gorge.

AndIFeedEmGunpowder Mon 17-Feb-14 21:47:43

Agree with mrslettuce about nude fishnets though. Black legs will make it all too heavy looking on bottom, unbalanced.

capsium Mon 17-Feb-14 21:57:18

These? Should be comfy and are quite retro.

princessalbert Mon 17-Feb-14 22:00:20

I bought these shoes for a couple of recent parties.

They are soooo comfortable. Not a blister in sight.

I usually go for black tights (am also chunky of calf!) but as my dress was sleeveless- ii thought the bottom part (legs) should match the top part (arms). Hence nude tights. They seem to be quite popular nowadays. I noticed quite a few women wearing nude tights- even with black dress and shoes.

MrsLettuce Mon 17-Feb-14 22:01:10

Those are lovely capsium.

Am still looking for higher ones.

MrsLettuce Mon 17-Feb-14 22:10:46

Ooh. How's about these or these?

MrsLettuce Mon 17-Feb-14 22:21:14

These would up the kinky but in a good way, I think.
M&S so could well be nice IRL or a fail, worth a look though

ShatzePage Tue 18-Feb-14 13:11:44

I recommended the Chorus thrill too-I really want them! Agnes and Norman so gorgeous retro style shoes-not cheap but they have some in the sale.

WildThong Tue 18-Feb-14 13:23:02

What about a black lace high heel
M&S shoes are usually comfortable

WildThong Tue 18-Feb-14 13:26:57

Or good old next
