bra intervention - for teens!

and first time bra wearers, i need top tips for where to buy. dd is 12, and i almost had a row with the lady in m&s yesterday when she couldn't understand why i refused for dd to be measured there.

anyway, the long and short of it is i'm having trouble finding dd something on a small scale, 28 b/c kind of size. she tried one on in m&s that was a 30b and it fitted ok but was too big on the band, looked on the website and they don't seem to do it in 28 b or c, they only do 28 in an aa or aa in some and the ones they do make in the right size are out of stock.

any tips on where to buy for teen bra's?, or are we going to have to go full on bravissimo?

ps, she's currently wearing matalan ones in 28a but the cup is now too small. in their range they only do 28aa, 28a, 30aa, 30a and so on, nowt bigger than an a!

Have you been able to measure her yourself? JL and Debenhams do stock 28 bands, Bravissimo do as well but their cups start at a D. However, you may be surprised as a 28D is still a very small cup. 28C is known on these boards as the rocking horse shit of bra sizes!

You may have to buy a 30B to get the cup right and then adjust the band either by using Rixie Clips or by some simple sewing.

yes, i've measured her, she's between a 28 b and c cup. i'm a 32 dd/e so am not surprised at all to find she's small on the band and bigger on the cup, will check out debenhams, haven't looked online there yet.

They definitely do, I've bought 28D bras in there for my niece. Maybe they're only in store?

Try john Lewis too. I'm a 28dd and that's where I get my bras.

I have the same issue for both my DDs. I have had some good success with e-bay - particularly from this seller

DD1 is 12 and now wears a 28D although her back size measured is smaller. I bought t shirt bras for her from John Lewis and find they fit well. I'm anticipating a bit of bother trying to find the next cup size as she won't need a 30 for a long time yet.

Suze you might find it easier to get the 28dd once she goes up as quite a few of the bigger bust brands like curvy kate start at a 28dd. The 28c is one of the hardestsizes to get. John lewis and mimi holliday do some.

I managed to get 28C from eBay, there's a seller on there who sells M&S Angel stock with the labels cut out. Worth keeping a look out for if you do need that size.

Because of the bra threads I realised I was infact a 24e rather than a 34c (courtsesy of m&s)
So now I im going to do dd 14. She measures
27.5 inches under
31 inches bent over

She is very slim with no padding so doesnt that mean going up a band size? Thanks

Start with 28c. She might need to go up a band but most people dont. If she does find 28 too wee then tty 30b to start

quite a few of these are available in 28c

I find m&s bras are fine if you go by your own measurements.

I'm struggling for dd

She says her crop tops are feeling small/not supervise but she only measures 25 across the back & 27 full bust.

I've posted about this before DD1 is just developing and can likely get away with crop tops for a while longer but I cannot see how we'll get her a bra anywhere.
She measures 23.5 round and probably 24 over bumps at the moment. She is barely 4 stone but just very petite, she has changed shape over the last year but never put on much weight.
Her little crop tops are age 7/8, if we buy any bigger they are baggy and she's more conscious of the bumfled look than not wearing a bra.
Any help appreciated.

think we're going to have to try john lewis, dd found the m&s bra's uncomfortable (she is a fusspot!) and the one that was comfy, with the lace panel under the arms was a 30 band and was huge, they didn't have it in a 28 to try. didn't help that in m&s the only 28's they had in were underwired and she didn't like the underwiring.

as an aside, i came across a site called little women, underwear for smaller sizes, so i put my own measurements in the size calculator, 31 chest, and 37 around the bust, i wear a 32dd/e depending on the fit, this site's calculator put me as a 36b Hmm

I just measures dd whilst she was bending over ( last time was Xmas & standing up.

Her back size is still 25 but her full bust was 30.

God I wish retailers would start making 26s! It drives me crazy. MadeinPreston have started doing 26s but they start at a DD. This is probably worth trying as the range of sizes I would suggest for her (if they existed!) would be 24DD, 24E, 26DD and 26D so it is one of her possible sizes. How old is she?

The other option is to try and find a 28 which fits in the cups (probably a C cup but you'd have to try a few) and then take the band in. It's pretty easy to do, lots of tutorials online

May is suggest feeding her up ;)

She is 12. I measured her at 26 back 27 full at Xmas but that wasn't bending over.

I did find it difficult to keep the tape at the fullest part.

She's wearing an age 11-12 crop top at the moment & says it feels small.

She's a dancer at full time ballet/dance school & a late developer. This time last year she was flat as a pancake but she's suddenly hit puberty.
