Years ago in the 70s, I used to use henna hair conditioner- not the coloured sort to make your hair red, but just a white one which was the most brilliant conditioner.Does it still exist and if so, where?
You can get it on Amazon: www.amazon.co.uk/Henara-Intensive-Treatment-Wax-400g/dp/B001RYUAPS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1392544637&sr=8-3&keywords=henna+waxor get something similar in cheaper chemists like Savers or Semi-Chem.
I got some recently from a pound shop!
The 99p shop by me does it..and it is still fab!
That's just made me flash back to some weird henna that we used to put on our hair to make it red. I'm sure it had sticks in it!!!
