Long hair to pixie cut, yey or ney?

Have name changed, fed up of my long hair weighing me down, it's not in great condition any more, I never get a chance to dry and style it and I wear it up in a messy bun every single day.
So considering going for the chop, have an appt booked for Monday, do I go for a pixie cut and will it be easier to manage (have two under three and NO time for myself ever!!) anyone ever regretted doing this?

I did it last November. Not a single regret, go for it! I think it'll really suit you

I think a chin length bob would suit you really well.

Go for it - it will grow if you don't like it !

That's what I need to hear oomph, my close friends are all really into long hair so will try and talk me out of it! I can almost feel my hair weighing me down though, had enough of it.

Bobs look great but I know with really thick wavy hair it will take a lot of effort to style, which is why I'm for long hair or the whole lot off, in between looks great but hard work IMO

Do it! I did in the summer and haven't looked back.

Your hairdresser will talk you through it and tell you how to style it etc.

My hair is quite fine and straight so I just wet my hair in the morning, put it so it's going in the right direction, then spray it and dry with a hair drier.

It looks like it'd suit you BUT I have always found short hair is harder to look after than long hair - always sticks up in the morning so needs washing, or damping down, and styling...

I went from bra strap hair to really short when I was about 16 (thanks to Victoria Beckham) and loved it. I started with that short/shaved at the back, long and front. Then went for a proper pixie cut coloured bright red.

It was a pain in the arse to grow out though. The in between stage was horrendous.

Do it, you have a fantastic face shape, it will really suit you.

I think wig makers take donated hair... Google it, definitely donate it

also pics once done please :)

I was all ready to read this and say no don't do it. Pixie cuts in my mind only suit a teeny tiny amount of people.

You are definitely one of those people, think it will look fab and you should absolutely go for it.

Buy a hat though as the cold might be a shock Grin

There is nothing more satisfying than chopping long hair short! Mine won't grow like yours so I have only ever done it from just below my shoulders - but I have done it a few times and it is wonderful. People said i was brave but hey, it grows and I have never hated it. I think you will look great!

Hmmm, styling is not a word I want to hear, I thought just wash, run through some wax or similar and go....

I say do it. I went from a long bob to a short pixie and now have an even shorter pixie. Also have 2 under 3 (newborn and 2yr old)

I always feel groomed and my hair takes about 5 minutes to style.

I cut all mine off and it is tons easier! Takes seconds. I'm all for short hair now.

I think go for it as I spent years scared to chop but took the plunge and never regretted it!

I think a pixi cut would suit you. There's still a bit of effort involved though.
