Graduation dress

My daughter is graduating this summer and is driving me nuts trying to find the perfect dress. She is 5'6", size 12/14 with an hour glass figure. She wants black, fit and flare dress, knee length, cap sleeve and not a high neck. Any suggestions gratefully received.

How flared does she want it? Full skirted fifties style or more 'flippy'?

Not too flared as she will be wearing the graduation gown over it. She says 'a bit flipper than a 1940's dress but not as full as a 50's dress'.. See what I'm up against!

Sounds like she needs a 50's dress without a petticoat. Possibly confused

TravelinColour, she is not planning on wearing a jacket. Would it be an option to use a safety pin to fasten the hood to her dress?
