Heavy duty facial oils - Recommendations needed!

I love facial oils and they work so much better on my skin than creams. Only took me 30 years to find that out!

Anyway I've been using facial oil from Neal's Yard (both the Rose and Francincense oils) but my skin is particularly dry post- partum and I'm looking for something a bit heavier to really moisturize and sort out the dry bits.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Don't know if it counts as heavy duty, but since I've been using Trilogy Rosehip oil overnight I've been looking brighter and less haggard when I wake up

I can't offer any recommendations but just wondered how you apply facial oil...how much product? Do you massage it in? What about around the eye area? Does serum go on first? Do you put it on underneath moisturiser? Oh the questions! (Can you tell I'm new to facial oil...am using the cheapo Superdrug Vit E one)

Don't know if my way is correct frankie but if I wear oil at night, I don't use creams or anything else on, just clense tone and then oil

One drop on forehead, one drop on each cheek, gently smooth over face, excess left on fingers pat into under eye and eyelid area

Ooo I heard about trilogy so will check it out.

I apply the oil solo as I don't like feel if creams or serums. Maybe layering is the trick?!

I love decleor rose. They do a balm too. (Meant to be for night time but I use it in the day when my skin needs extra help.) Seriously heavy duty moisturising!

I alternate - serums and cream one day, oil the next.

These aren't heavy duty but I am liking them:
Clarins lotus oil (they have one for dry skin)
Aesop parsley

I use oil at night for cleansing and moisturising. At the moment, I'm alternating between wheatgerm, coconut and almond oil. There's absolutely no need, in my opinion, to waste your money on 'facial oils' - I get wheatgerm oil from Holland and Barrett and the others from the grocery shelves.

Decleor Neroli aromessence or however it's spelt. QVC usually have offers on it - I paid £45 for 15ml which lasts ages and got a 200ml self tan and 3 other moisturisers. The self tan is very good too, very natural

I find decleor experience de l'age moisturiser over the top really boosts it I also have the night balm I usually put a thick layer of that on once a week.

its very easy to make your own blend of oils. currently i use a mix of almond, evening primrose, vitamin e, and jojoba oil and i have mixed essential oils like rosmary in. once you have all the stuff you can make your own for ages and it saves a fortune you can also use them in the bath.

Clarins Blue Orchid oil (for dry skin) is absolutely gorgeous and smells divine.

I started using Trilogy rosehip oil, liked it at first then after about 3 weeks it started to smell horrible! Kind of like rotting vegetation!? Did this happened to anyone else or did I get a dud? Are you supposed to keep it in the fridge?

I used the trilogy too and liked it initially but it gave me spots after about 2 weeks.

Like muser I blend my own oil. Majority Argan oil, about 15% Avocado oil and a little Pomegranate oil. The pomegranate is very sticky so it really does need to be with something else. It's all horses for courses so everyone would need to tinker for their best skin recipe.

I've used the Liz Earle and Clarins orchid ones in the past, but my favourite is this

Clarins Blue Orchid oil is beautful. I also like the Elemis oil pods - rose for day, lavender for night. If my skin is feeling really dry I put a layer of night cream on top of the oil in the evening.

I prefer generic rosehip oil from ebay. The Trilogy one is quite a dry oil.

Thought of another one - Champneys. Usually buy 2 get third free offers at Boots. Not as good for me as Neroli but is very good nonetheless

My sweet, kind sis bought me a beauty product advent calendar as I was really run down and constantly poorly in the autumn (how all-round lovely was THAT?) There was an Espa facial oil in.that which I thought was way better than the Meals Yard one I had used for ages nice, slightly spicy smell, sank in immediately, seriously deep moisturising....
