I thought I would start a thread for those here who have a more artsy approach to S+B rather than those who want to emulate the French/Italian look.

Come hither all fellow quirksters and share your wares and hair/beauty finds.

Some of my favourite things are Conker shoes, Fairystep bags, Gringo shrugs and cropped jumpers legacy of 1990's alert I will venture out in Crocs and Birkenstocks with no shame Grin

I love Beauty without Cruelty lipsticks and massive rings. I love to see unusual stuff put together and layered up Lagenlook style. One day I will own some Trippen shoes.

So what's your best buy of late and what are you hankering after?

Best two buys recently are a rose gold ish sequin midi skirt from primark which I will wear with a mens oversize black wool jumper and black velvet Dr Martens and a black and green tartan blazer, also from primark which I will wear with a denim mini skirt, green opaque tights and the velvet Dr Martens again Grin perhaps a nice slick of red lipstick with black gloss over the top too Grin

Grin

One I found Rimmel black lipgloss in a pound shop! Amazing. I love it over red lipstick.

There's where I found mine too little !! Poundshop is a treasure trove if you make the effort to look properly! Grin I also found a really nice red gloss in there the other day as well as a nice little rimmel eyeshadow quad in purples and deep greens which bring out the green in my eyes a treat

If you like greens and purple eye makeup, MAC do fantastic glittery eyeliners - pearlglide. They have incredible staying power too!

I love a dark lipstick too. Off to rummage in a Poundland soon. I favour a matte black cherry on occasion hardcore Grin

I am currently obsessed with a huge rubber necklace /pendant with a metal artsy thing on the end of it by Transparente. It would go with so much....

Collection 2000 eyeliners are great - there's a lovely vivid teal in the felt tip ones. The glitter liquid liners (these) are great too and easy to apply.

Also, I know I bang on about Korean cosmetics all the time but they really are fab for more interesting colours/products. These eyeliners are wonderful as are these eyeshadow palettes. Musings of a Muse has loads of reviews of Korean brands and is one of my favourite beauty bloggers.

Sleek and NYX also do great bright colours.

Flange I heartily recommend Topshop for dark lipsticks. The quality is amazing (and the packaging is metal not plastic so feels very expensive) and do such lovely vivid 'fashion' colours, like comparable-to-MAC colours without the drying texture.

I'm sorry each to their own and all that but there is no way on earth these belong in Style and Beauty.

I love Tatty Devine jewellery for something a bit different.

I quite like New Look, if you are picky in there, for slightly 'goth' inspired clothes, got a lace/crochet style black top in the sale after xmas, plus some faded black high rise skinnies for about £10 each Grin

Must check poundland, not something I'd thought of before Wink, need some black nail polish & eyeliner.

I tend to be gothy/indie rather than artsy but I've seen worse!

Flange do you like Gudrun Sjoden? Seems like your thing Grin

I do like their collection themes, and actually am quite tempted by the Tove dress....

Can't find the black lipstick but this is the lipgloss.

Bear in mind that ranges in pound shops come and go and can be really variable - well worth a rummage but grab stuff if you like it because it probably won't reappear. So don't be disappointed if you don't find what you're looking for!

I find pound shops good for Wet n Wild which is a fab cheap range in the US, it hasn't been sold here in ages.

Hello!

My best buy recently is my enormous vintage jumper. It was £10 and is huge, warm and I have had so many people comment on how good it looks. I wear it with very skinny jeans and purple veggie DMs. I'm really lucky to have lots of local vintage shops.

Which high street/online shops do people like? I have good luck with Asos and adore Beyond Retro, love Gap skinny jeans too.

I like Gudrun stuff little but not on me. I tend to be more indie/gothy with an artsy twist depending on my mood.

I love those Trippen happy faith boots thanking you busker !

I really like loads of the hairstyles on wiphairport. They do amazing pixie cuts which is my style of choice.

I found my jewellery heaven - The jewellery Stop.

Gringo sometimes has great stuff. Not keen on the bright patchwork or pixie hoods stuff but bought a great owl top recently in black.

I really want some Fly London mes in patent red. I'm fighting it.sturdy of calf

Another one here who is more goth/indie than truly artsy. I don't let it hold me back though, alternative is alternative, it's all just sub genres beyond that Wink

There was a company that made my idea of the most perfect boots - Red by Wolves- but it seems to have closed down. They were a perfection of numerous buckles but pointy and flat.

I like the idea of this thread, beauty and style being subjective ideas and not a set of rules.

I prefer to wear vintage dresses with biker boots. I've been doing this for a long time but it still works for me. Iused to wear trainers with party dresses but then Lily Allen copied. This probably dates me a bit.
