What is the Official Position on tights/socks/popsocks with trouser suits?

I don't know what to do.

I usually wear a skirt to work with black tights (oop in the cold north). But for the days were? where? when I need to wear trousers, what is best?

Bare feet are out, I get little clammy feet, even in winter. Tights over trousers seem weird. Can't wear thick socks with nice heeled court shoes, so that leaves pop socks, either a black denier or nude coloured, then my DM told me that I'll look like a granny if I wear pop socks Sad

What's the correct thing to do?

I wear pop socks Blush
I live in fear of being run over and found out...
But you're right, tights under (or over!) trousers is all a bit too trussed up for my liking.
Do Not Buy the value ones in M&S they are rubbish.
I get their slightly more expensive ones, bare/nude.
Sigh. I hate them really but it seems the best of a bad set of choices.

In winter, I wear smart heeled ankle boots (and ordinary socks) with my work trousers.

Tights under trousers I can't bear. Too itchy and uncomfortable.

Worse than being run over would be knee or ankle injury AT WORK that required a colleague first aider to have a look. Makes my blood run cold.

DrNick do you have a link to any fishnet socks? I was looking today in M&S hoping they would have maybe little nude coloured vintage lacy type socks, thinking that people wouldn't notice them, but if they looked closely would see them and think they were purposefully not normal pop socks. I didn't see any so they probably don't exist. What colour of fishnet socks?

what's wrong with pop socks as long as you're sure you're trousers are long enough not to give the game away even if you cross your legs.

Tights under trousers are a one way ticket to thrush.

Top Shop sell some pop socks which are a bit more fun. I have 2 pairs, black sheer with light & mid blue flowers, black with small dots & a small frill round the cuff.

Do fishnets still stop your shoes rubbing on your feet? I sometimes get little friction burn type things on my ankle if I wear shoes with bare feet.

Will check out the Topshop ones too, thanks!

I would wear smart ankle boots too. Can't stand court shoes, partly because you can't wear proper socks.

I try and wear boots, or at worst, patterned pop socks, though I despise them. I have some "trouser socks" which are thinner sort of shiny socks which look ok with flat loafery type shoes.

Primark used to do different coloured fishnet pop socks - I got them in black, brown, khaki and nude for work
