Epilator Recommendation Please

I have an old epilator but its never done a really good job. It tends to tug the hairs but not always pull them out properly first time.

Has anyone any recommendations for one that's worthwhile?

Braun Silk-Epil is very effective and very gentle.

Oh you are brave, I've got the top of the range silkepil, the one with the ice pack to numb the pain, and it's still agony!

I have, and would recommend, the Philips Satin Perfect.

I have the silk epil too. It takes time to get used to it, but I love it now.
I can only use it on my legs, anywhere else is too painful, but as long as I do it regularly (every 1-2 weeks) then it doesn't hurt now. Keep the hairs short and it is less painful.

I also have the wet/dry Philips satin perfect, very gentle and I even use it on my underarms!

MostWicked which model silk epil do you have? (the one with an ice pack?)

I have used a few models and find them much the same - you wouldn't use any pain reducing features like an ice pack after a short time as you get used to the sensation. The one feature I have found ace is a light so you can get the really fine ones that are hard to see.

I have the Braun Silk-épil Xpressive Pro 7681 Wet & Dry Rechargeable Epilator
No ice. I did try a bag of frozen peas but it didn't help much. The wipes did help though, until I got used to it.

I think I might have the same one as MostWicked but I've lost the box so I'm guessing - it's a silk-epil 7, wet and dry, rechargeable. Doesn't get every hair on the first go (but to be fair, it would hurt if it did). Makes very short, and lasting, work of underarms and doesn't hurt although I won't pretend it's nice.

This one seems easier to clean than my previous model which was nearly 10 years old. I agree with cakebar that a light is the best add-on.

I find the light very useful too.
I think it's important to try it for a month or so before you really judge it. As crossparsley said, it doesn't get every hair first time, so it takes a few attempts before you get a smooth finish. However, once you have got past that, and you keep on top of it, it works much better.
I used some of the attachments in the early days, as that made it a bit more comfortable too, but I haven't used them since.
The shaver head is very good too.

~whispers~ I used to pluck the hairs out using tweezers, that sprouted around my nipples, but I find the epilator does a much better job of getting rid of them.

Thanks MostWicked that looks like the favourite at the moment (unless I go for the one with the exfoliating attachment too)

I am in a similar nipple predicament so would probably use that also. I am particularly interested in the facial hair epilation option as I have suddenly become allergic to depilatory cream.
