TK Maxx - any bargains about?

I'm off to TK Maxx tomorrow for some bedding.
I'm always hearing people telling me they've found a great bargain dress, jumper, boots etc. except all I ever see is tat! Confused

Are there any bargains to be had? :)

There are always bargains to be found in TK Maxx but there never seems to be any rhyme or reason to it. You've sometimes got to spend an hour going through their mountains of tat to get to the bargains... worth it though!

Yeah, it's definitely worth it, but takes some searching. I used to get ALL my underwear there. Last year I got a super warm waterproof country tweed coat for £30 and they normally cost over £100 new.

I get a lot of high-ish end nail polish from there for a fraction of the price - OPI, Orly, etc. They also have some nice posh bath gift sets/hair products if you like that sort of thing. Mine is also good for good quality gloves.

Just don't come to my one or I'll get you! Grin (or help you look for the nicest polishes).

I try to go once a week for my super dooper bargains.

You have to search. You have to be in the mood. And you have to go early.

If you have a Home Sense near you they are also TK Maxx and have more bedding.

Ahhh, HomeSense- love it (but I really don't like TKMaxx) Confused

I was in HomeSense today, they had some white plates with gold round the edge.
"Oh, I'll get them on the way back" I thought.
Some blighter bought them Sad

So I had to buy some Portmerion Christmas Tree teaspoons instead.

I got a few things in TK Maxx today - no designer brands though.

DH is likely to ban me from Home Sense! I never leave empty handed. Last Xmas our local one had a huge Santa sleigh outside. I took a photo of it and sent it to DH saying I loved it and had bought it and it would be delivered next day. We have a huge garden so it was believable. Kept it going for quite a while too. Grin

Emma Hardie!!!! Which TK Maxx Allthings?
I'm popping into the Manchester Arndale branch tomorrow - a couple of weeks ago I got a Gharani Strok wool mix coat for £37 - current stock and on sale from their own site for £125.

Thanks all! :)

I'm primarily going for the home stuff and will have 2.5yo dd with me so browsing leisurely might not happen.

Will have a try though! :)

I find lots of TK Maxx bargains online, but the one time I went (all excited Blush ) to my nearest branch I was v. disappointed...lots of tat, and the few nice things I did find looked like they'd been tried on, dumped on the floor and then put back umpteen times. Sweaters covered in bits of lint and bobbled and so on Sad
The home stuff was OK but not especially cheap.
There were some nice things in the toiletries section, luxury soaps and shampoos etc, would be good for presents.

I came out with a boring-but-useful pair of thermal gloves and a £6 toy for DS's friend's birthday. Not my best shopping trip ever Hmm

But have had great things online, mostly knitwear.

I have bought Orla Kiely grey multi stem bedlinen in the last fortnight. They do seem to stock extremely good bedding - it's just luck of the draw of what's in stock when you frequent the store. DS has the Orla Kiely orange cars bedlinen (also from TKMaxx a few years ago).

I bought far too much this week - a fab Maison Scotch red boucle biker jacket, a Missoni scarf and CAT biker boots reliving the 90s Not to be worn all at once!!

Loads of good stuff for men- particularly jumpers and socks. The handbag section is rather deadly, with Gucci and Osprey at up to 70% off! I personally don't bother with clothes for myself, just because I'm really picky and an awkward size (14/16 and tall - long arms, legs, back etc).

I got an Aquascutum classic black blazer - beautiful, I'll still be wearing it in 10 years time.
£550 down to £79...

I saw a Gucci bag in my local one yesterday, a really nice one but it was £350 Shock it's such a strange shop really.

Yesterday a slouchy Paul Costelloe cashmere jumper and 2 pairs of exercise capri's with a pull in tummy panel(bizarrely).I always buy cashmere at my local TK,s and boots.Sadly there were no spanx leggings left (which is why I went in originally).

Well I am just not cut out for TK Maxx shopping. Confused

Started badly as they only had a teeny tiny selection of bedding for a double bed and nothing that I liked.

The clothes were a god awful mess! Everything in a chaotic heap, some on hangers, a lot on the floor.
I might have manage better without dd shouting about snacks the whole time even when she had some

I came away with a £2.99 book for a friends dc.

Could have bought loads today - came away with a Missoni cape type knitted wrap in purply zig zags and an Osprey purple cross body bag, totes bed socks and an Avoca knitted beanie for my eldest :)

I find TK a glorified jumble sale. Full of tat.

Grin Ciderwith
I did the same to DH with a lifesize mirrored rhino
"Are you home tomorrow DH"?
"Yes, why"?
"They are delivering this at 11am"

He was Shock and Confused and mighty relieved when I said it wasn't true.
It was tacky as Hell glitzy and interesting and a snip at £310 .

Grin at least you can leave a life size mirrored rhino on display all year. My sleigh would have been a bit of an issue to fit into the Xmas cupboards!

I got Dorma bedding a while ago, very nice and substantially reduced. Got a Ronit Zilka coat for £40 and last week got a Basler jacket for £20.

I love Homesense even more though, get loads of candles, Christmas decs, etc
