I bought a couple of things recently with Christmas/New Year nights out in mind but no complete outfit yet.

I'm an 18 and rather short.

I bought these two from Pink Clove jacket

and I like this from White Stuff tunic

Unfortunately none of these go together so ideas needed.

Anyone else like to share they are wearing for Christmas Day and night out?

northern I have that Boden top too and love it! Have blue and brown. Can't wear red as doesn't suit my colouring - but agree it will make a lovely Christmas day top. And - unlike a sweater, however nice -not too hot if slaving over the oven and imbibing plenty of fizz!

Just read thread through properly and just to agree that Boden top has a good V neck but not too low so cami not essential. They have 22%off at moment.

I wear that top with NYDJ skinny jeans and ankle boots when out and about. Will wear it for indoors only with same jeans or Boden Ponte Roma trousers/ jeggings and one of my collection of ballerinas - probably Boden ones with sparkly trims if round Christmas.

The M an S cord jeggings look awful on me because if I get them in the size I need for waist and hips, the legs look horribly baggy and clown-like as my own legs are long and ( comparatively) slim. The NYDJ jeans and Boden Roma are nice and tight to the leg which suits me.

I will look forward to the Boden top/dress arriving! I ordered in red, I like red.
I noticed now that the Coast sequin top is available in my size again with a 20% discount with free delivery so that is also now on its way!
I cannot get my pins in skinny jeans sad, straight is best for me.

Poluhymnia - I think our wardrobes must be identical grin I was really impressed with the neckline. Wish they would do more that shape as they do often need a cami or pinning to stop slippage.

I'm lurking here grin
I'm an awkward size - too small for plus size brands, but sometimes too big for high street angry
My recent purchases have been a matalan v neck jersey dress which is v flattering and a collectif dress

Yes northern I reckon we've got a pretty similar collection of nice Boden tops between us! Have you had any favourite dresses from them this season? I think you mentioned one?

Hi Ladiessmile Peaches, I do shop online, took the plunge and have ordered the Ruby's closet caviar beaded skater dress from simply be, am planning on buying a nice shrug to go with it. Simply be is good quality I feel, although expensive for me x

peachesandpickles Tue 26-Nov-13 18:06:32

Has anyone seen/bought anything interesting lately?

I've ordered this dress

Not sure what the quality will be like at the price but it's all my budget can stretch to this year.

Dontletthemgetyoudown Tue 26-Nov-13 18:59:21

My sister has that dress in the red. It's great for the price not too scratchy and flattering on her. She's a 24 with huge boobs so would definitely look nice on someone smaller too.

Dontletthemgetyoudown Tue 26-Nov-13 19:04:30

Also take a look on asos in the curve section for 18+ lots of gorgeous dresses and their main range tends to come up big in own label stuff. You can often get away with at least one size smaller

MadameJosephine Tue 26-Nov-13 19:19:13

dontletthem how short is that dress in RL? Looks scary short on the model but I'm only 5'3"

peachesandpickles Tue 26-Nov-13 19:28:20

The model is 5'11 so the dress wouldn't be anything like that short on you madame

MsRinky Tue 26-Nov-13 19:36:20

Oops, just ordered that Boden tunic. I'm probably too suggestible for this thread.

Dontletthemgetyoudown Tue 26-Nov-13 20:25:14

I think just above the knee. My sister is 5'6/5'7 ish

smellylittleorange Tue 26-Nov-13 20:56:11

Have created a Christmas Day Dress Contenders Board on Pinterest otherwise know as Reddish dresses with sleeves on the knee. My name is Sequin Orange if anyone fancies a peep

WildThong Tue 26-Nov-13 22:00:41

Has anyone tried this Boden dress. I'm not sure how it would sit on a big tummy. Size 16 and 5'3 here

WildThong Tue 26-Nov-13 22:06:57

smelly grin
What length is the Tesco dress? It looks lovely but I don't wear anything too short.

smellylittleorange Tue 26-Nov-13 22:15:11

Comes to just above knee, I have that problem too keep buying dresses that are too short so can only be worn as tops or with leggings but this one is quite perfect

also have bought white stuff dress like this recently which is a good length on me

HavingAnOffDAy Tue 26-Nov-13 22:29:16

Not sure if you've seen this Chewbecca but it caught my eye in our local store this afternoon.

The neckline was lower in RL than it looks on the picture

AndiMac Tue 26-Nov-13 22:29:47

Popping on to watch.

WildThong Tue 26-Nov-13 22:33:12

Perfect eh? Damn....goes to get purse.....

peachesandpickles Wed 27-Nov-13 12:56:24

I like the F&F dress and the Boden one.

mrsrinky Which colour did you order? I'd love a navy dress and this one looks good.

Will you pop back and let us know what the fit is like?

ShinyBauble Wed 27-Nov-13 13:33:32

I just bought the Clarks boots and the Tesco dress. Logging off now before I blow my presents budget!

MrsSchadenfreude Fri 29-Nov-13 15:42:11

I ordered the Boden top/dress on your recommendation and it looks fantastic! How did I miss it on the website? I ordered the brown and the red and they both look great, so I am keeping them. Have lost weight recently and need some new jeans (jeggings?) to go under them now...

I also have the Lydia dress from Boden in black and the black/cream colourway. I prefer the black, although the other one is useful for work and can be tarted up a bit with a red scarf.

I am a 22 and bought this in Jade
