got measured in john lewis yesterday
she said i was 32DD
the bra i tried on seems to fit ok, a bit of side fat
i bought a similar bra today... it doesn't fit.
I have bottom heavy boobs so the top is two great big gaping holes.

What do I do?

This is an emergency because I don't have a single bra that fits and I am back at work next week after mat. leave.

Everything is too big sad

Do you have a tape measure handy?

Measure your under bust in inches taut. Then dangle forwards and measure around bust loosely. Post your measures and we will help.

OK, first off - you HAVE TO try bras on. Nobody is only one size in bras.

Secondly, measuring tape out please and follow the fitting guidelines here and post up your measurements. It could be that John Lewis lady is miles off, which won't be helping

Thirdly, can you link to the bra you bought? It sounds like it could also be a style issue

Right, measure under your boobs to determine what back size you need. Pull the tape quite tight.

Next, lean forward 90 degrees so your boobs are pointing to the floor. Measure right round, putting the tape measure round your bag and round your dangling down boobs.

The difference between these two measurements tells you your cup size. So. Plus 1 inch = A cup, plus 2 inch = B etc

This bra

I am bottom heavy

measuring now

Thanks everyone!

OK, moulded bras are kind of evil when it comes to fitting. Essentially the moulding means they can't adapt at all to your shape - so they either fit or they don't, and often that's not a size issue. Is it particularly a moulded bra you are after? They're often problematic for bottom heavy norks because they have a tendency to gape

I just want pretty bras aka ones that my gran would not wear!
Style, I'm easy smile

OK, so more like a 30E than a 32DD as a starting point as well.

OPeaches Wed 30-Oct-13 21:18:56

Oops, 30E

OPeaches Wed 30-Oct-13 21:19:43

So many x-posts. I'm so slow!

smartiepantsgirl Wed 30-Oct-13 21:20:39

You're the same size as me, I can recommend Bravissimo's own range of bras. I always find they fit perfectly.

GeekInThePink Wed 30-Oct-13 21:20:57

Wow! she was really out.

I'm a bony size 8 with F boobs!

Thank you everyone, can anyone recommend a bra please?

(I am quite poor!)

For bottom heavy, the moulded/t shirt ones are harder. That's not to say there won't be one out there for you, but you will need to try lots to find it! Freya Deco (there is a hattie in a lovely pink), Cleo Maddie, Cleo Juna, curvy kate smoothie, wonderbra everyday tshirt are all potentials but it will be trial and error.

Bras which (off the top of my head!) are good for full on bottom
Bravissimo Alana
Bravissimo Dotty Spot
Freya - unpadded 3 part balconettes like the Lyla, Arabella etc
Some people like Ewa Michalak CHs and Curvy Kate Thrill Me

GeekInThePink Wed 30-Oct-13 21:47:32

Thank you so much. I'm really very grateful smile
I don't tend to wear to shirt bras so much will have a good look at your recommendations.

MN is bloody brilliant for stuff like this coming to the aid of the bra less and desperate!

ilovepowerhoop Wed 30-Oct-13 22:02:19

you should try 30E first (as well as a cup sizes around that size)

SorrelForbes Wed 30-Oct-13 22:02:57

Some great advice in here already but will also suggest trying the Cleo Marcie and Melissa as they have worked well for a friend who is also bottom heavy.

GeekInThePink Wed 30-Oct-13 22:34:37

So 30E then a 30F

Will order some bras and follow the fit guide.

Thanks everyone!

GeekInThePink Wed 30-Oct-13 23:18:00

Thanks smartie!
Thanks power for converting my link.

Cleo bras are pretty!

I'm hoping that the band won't feel tight because the cup will be big enough?
I think I will need to get to used to wearing a bra that fits!

GeekInThePink Wed 30-Oct-13 23:21:04

I like bravissimo they seem to have a good range too
