ElizabethBathory Mon 30-Sep-13 13:12:19

Burgundy is everywhere right now! Also, it suits me.

LividofLondon Mon 30-Sep-13 13:13:19

Not my thing at all, no. I'm shocked it's from a trendy shop as it looks rather frumpy and dated to me confused

PedlarsSpanner Mon 30-Sep-13 13:15:33

Ah crap at everywhere

I think burberry or sim has a heart print, blokes too, VB wore one, the print didnt match at the button front, poorly made

That heart dress I would wear if diff colourway

ElizabethBathory Mon 30-Sep-13 13:18:10

Maybe it's meant to look 80s then? Hmm. I was a small child in the 80s so wasn't paying attention to the fashion. The dress does get bad reviews...

libertychick Mon 30-Sep-13 13:18:26

I LOVE it...if burgundy suits you go for it!

treaclesoda Mon 30-Sep-13 13:20:29

I knew it would be that dress before I even clicked the link. I love it. But its 100% polyester, which isn't so nice.

Also, what's wrong with burgundy? I love burgundy! grin

Loving the 'Savannah is 5' 10" and wears a size 10'. I am 5' 10" and do not.

SummerRain Mon 30-Sep-13 13:21:27

it's horrible.

Really frumpy and dated. It's an off shape too, lloks very 80's round the shoulders

ThePuffyShirt Mon 30-Sep-13 13:22:26

It's really very horrid, sorry.

ElizabethBathory Mon 30-Sep-13 13:22:44

Yes 100% polyester for £ would have to be very nice on!

treaclesoda Mon 30-Sep-13 13:24:30

They have a £45 in a similar colour that is viscose, and its a far nicer shape too...

ElizabethBathory Mon 30-Sep-13 13:24:33

It has weird sleeve zips that I hadn't noticed. I knew it would divide opinions, but thought it would be the massive hearts everyone hated grin

Hullygully Mon 30-Sep-13 13:27:14

Oh no

it is a very wrong dress indeed

ElizabethBathory Mon 30-Sep-13 13:27:25

Do you mean this one treaclesoda? It's okay, but print is too busy for me.

treaclesoda Mon 30-Sep-13 13:27:54

If you like burgundy then this one is cheaper and also no polyester. here

Seems I'm in the minority, but I did like the first one, because I love burgundy I suppose! But I wouldn't buy a polyester dress because personally it would just make me all sweaty and horrible. Although I might be particularly stinky...

treaclesoda Mon 30-Sep-13 13:28:58

X post!

ThisIsBULLSHIT Mon 30-Sep-13 13:29:23

I really like it!

ElizabethBathory Mon 30-Sep-13 13:31:49

I'm sure you're not stinky treacle! I do try to avoid it normally, but one of my favourite ever dresses is polyester and causes no problems - it's also lasted aaages and never fades or creases or wears (I guess polyester is not exactly biodegradable and the dress will outlive us all.)

ironmansmum Mon 30-Sep-13 15:51:19

Not my cup of tea I'm afraid

SundaySimmons Mon 30-Sep-13 16:00:57

I don't like it because the pattern doesn't line up on the pockets. This is always a sign of a cheaply made garment, so regardless of colour, shape and material, the shoddy attention to pattern details means I'm out.

Trills Mon 30-Sep-13 16:03:42

When I read your title I was thinking "hearty soup" and wondered how a dress could be hearty.

I don't like the shape. I do like burgundy.

neolara Mon 30-Sep-13 16:11:38

Gosh. One of the great things about getting old is that I have absolutely no idea whatsoever about what is fashionable or not. I think it's quite a nice dress. If it suits you, go for it. Also, as someone old enough to remember, I don't think the neckline is particularly 80s. (And for anyone under the age of 35, I am happy to confirm the 80s were a spectacularly awful decade for fashion. )
