Recommend me some online shops please!

Spent hours shopping for a dress for a wedding reception today in all the usual high street shops and I pretty much hated everything I saw, and all the shops were full of the same things. Horrible shiny, cheap looking crap with lace/pleather panels.
I have given up on looking again and plan to buy online and send back what doesn't fit.
So, looked at Boden - don't really do anything not casual or worky, Hush (I love Hush) but is obv FAR too casual, People Tree - nothing I really want and isn't free returns.

Any suggestions? I don't have loads of money but hate cheap crap (not easy!)

surely the dept stores would be a good place? Coast are usually good for weddings.

If not try fever design?

Not sure where all the pleather for occasionwear is. Where were you looking?

Debenhams seem to have some sort of sale and discount code thing online just now.

I went in Debenhams and couldn't see anything I liked, not my kind of shop generally but was desperate!
This kind of monstrosity is what I'm trying to avoid

Sorry but I hate Coast! I think I can see that I am a bit difficult.

Might just wear jeans.

It's ok. I'm not coast's designer, I just know they are popular.

i'm no style icon but it might help if you put up your age and height and size/shape for if any style experts turn up.

What style would you like if you weren't constrained by this season's trends?

I'm early thirties, size 12 and 5'7''. Never wear smart clothes but want to feel dressed up for upcoming nights out and wedding reception.
Thanks for your responses.

Are there any John Lewis shops near you. Or Wallis. If you don't want anything to trendy and brash.

Asos have such a wide variety, I got a wonderful dress for a wedding last year, pale peach, dipped hem, not booby, back detail. Was perfect for the day and then the night too! You can put in wedding and it'll show you some suggestions. Also try
Www.stylefruits.co.uk

A website where you can submit outfits so you can see what other think is appropriate also by typing in wedding. Hope this helps

Thanks! there are a few there I haven't heard of so will have a look.
I would say my style is relaxed and simple and maybe a bit edgy ( hate that word). Not too safe or mumsy.
I don't have anything in mind because I can't find anything I like!

What about LK Bennett? They always have a few things in the sale. What about this?

I like the look of cos.... can't imagine how the dresses would look on a normal person though. They are a bit different though, which attracts me.

Also try shopstyle .. If you put in blue dress for example it will bring you up many options from different shops so you can get ideas.
