So, I went to M&S yesterday and.......(15 Posts)
1. Stuff I liked
2. Stuff in my size (6).
Two things which rarely happen these days
I have made the decision to really make an effort with style and skincare but am a novice at both and a lazy shopper at best so I am likely to be posting in S&B and hoping for as much help as you are willing to give me!
Here's what I bought yesterday.
Might return the last one as not 100% sure. Not sure that the website does any of the clothes justice, especially not the last dress, which was lovely in the shop and on. Lord there was some crap in there too.
I am a biker boot avid collector and have some black wedge heel ankle boots too, which hopefully will be useful for the above.
Purchased a slouch knitted dress in dark grey with fake leather edging and have my eye on a Boden ebay demin dress.
I live in skinny jeans, hence my addiction to biker boots, this is a last ditch attempt at kicking the habit!
Am I doing this right? Is there a thread I should post on?
I am 41 and 5ft 0, probably look my age but being quite skinny helps I think.
Love the sound of the slouch knitted dress... Was that m and s too?
I was in M&S yesterday, and I couldn't believe it! I haven't bought anything except food in there in my life, and yesterday I bought 3 pairs of shoes and considered a coat. Amazing!! Such good value, too.
There was a pair of leopard print boots that looked amazing leobear! I buy a lot of food there too but haven't bought clothes other than school uniform for years!
The slouch dress was next, my default online shop which I am trying to change. I will link later as I am on my phone. Again, looks nothing online or even out of the bag but, put it on and it's fab! Wore it today to pop into the city and it was chilly but not cold, pair of biker boots and black tight. Nothing digging in or uncomfortable like jeans and fitted enough to look good without sucking everything in!!!!
I bought the grey/black and the burgundy but will actually keep both, which I hadn't planned.
I adore the blue leopard dress! How does it feel, given that it's polyester?
Saw these in black in store today. Quite tempted...
I love your purchases!
I need the m&s waxed navy coat...need it! I was so surprised to find something I loved in there.
Hurray marks and sparks.
KIQJM&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=3149706031&pf_rd_p=321381387&pf_rd_s=related-items-3 I tried these on and quite liked them. To wear with black skinnies
Clure - They are fab. So fab I have ordered a pair! Thanks.
gaggiagirl - I have a Fatface wax jacket that DH bought me a couple of years ago. Looks fab, but isn't really what I would call a real winter coat, which for £200, I think it ought to be. DD wears it for school, I should really confiscate tbh.
I like the jeggings too - aaargh
Frankie - hadn't noticed it was polyester, but I am really no clothes expert, I shouldn't imagine it will bother me.
The next slouch dress is here, again it doesn't look much in the picture but looks much better on.
Also bought these from M&S (none of which look good on the website) but going to expand my horizons and peruse other stores now. I like a bit of Fatface for casual easy wear (home, walking dog, messing with kids), otherwise a bit of Zara (although being small doesn't help here at 5 foot), occasional Firetrap jeans, some Joules type stuff places for the pony stuff we do, but if anyone has any good suggestions for clothes shops, I would love that. What are Warehouse and Dorothy Perkins etc like these days? Totally crap with accessories!
Really mean to keep up with my wardrobe and beauty routine, I used to be good at buying just a few bits quite frequently so never really running out but I looked in the wardrobe at the weekend and thought 'OMG'.
needastrongone - excellent I'm glad to be of service!! I am tempted to pop into marks tomorrow to try on the boots again, I must wear jeans this time as last time I had denim shorts on and I looked a hideous in said boots with the shorts! I am also liking the tiger t-shirt too
I'm 36, 5ft and a size 6 too so will definitely be checking out the blue print dress you linked to! Great find!
