Swimsuits for long body

QueenCadbury · 02/08/2013 08:52

Although I'm average height, I have a long body and find normal swimsuits don't fit. For ages I've been wearing the zoggs Ella swimsuit which comes in a long length but it only comes in black and I fancy something different.

I've found some long body suits in j crew and sea folly but don't particularly want to pay £££.

Anyone got any other recommendations?

I have this problem even though I'm only 5'2" and the only solution I've found is bikinis. I'm 39 weeks pregnant and look a right sight at the pool! Marking place to keep an eye on this thread. Sorry I can't help you though...

I have this prob, and trying to find a not too pricey one that is DD + bra sized as well is v hard. Landsend in the states had some but were $$. I've seen tesco and m and s have long length before but stock is hit and miss now too. I recently tried a new look bra sized one, the underwire finished at my waist!
I've given up and gone for a bravissimo bikini.
The one on long tall Sally has reviews saying how its not actually v long so I didn't try that one.
It's a gap in the market I reckon!

Was about to suggest M&S, too, though they had no long ones in stock when i bought one for hydrotherapy, a couple of years ago. I ended up buying one with halter straps, which I could tie around my neck at the right length - it was October and you'd think that no one wanted to go swimming at that time of year, from the lack of choice in the shops.

Weirdly I hadn't even thought of checking m&s but they do have long ones. Unfortunately I don't like them . Debenhams also have some too but again I don't like them. Maybe I'll just stick to my black zoggs one!

Lands End, they have a UK or a US site. I always use the UK one. Not cheap but they do have fantastic sales. I still have some that are 5+ years old and I live overseas so ithey get used at least once a week.

Yes, another vote for Lands End Sale, for long bodied swimsuits. Or a tankini!

I've given up and go for a Tankini now. Nothing worse that your cozzie cutting you in half.

My DD is 5' 10 with a long body and she has just bought a swimsuit from Next [in the store] which has adjustable straps and is easily long enough. I think it was the bodyshaper one. Only comes in red or black though I think but the red is a very nice pinky red and very flattering.

I have been looking at ones with adjustable straps and thought that may be the way forward.

I did think of a tankini but worried that the top wouldn't be long enough.

I know you've said you're not keen to spend ££ but I bit the bullet and splashed out on a seafolly costume and its so lovely, and I've had a fair few compliments about it. Design wise it's not fancy, but the fit and quality is brilliant. I'm 5'9 and no problems with the length. I'm pretty sure I found it online with a discount code, and I've seen them in JL in the sale. Might be worth considering?

Have a look on the Marisota website - I got a long one from there last year and I'm 5'11"and it's a good fit. The prices aren't too bad.

Debenhams do longer length ones too.
I didn't think my body was that long until I was exposing nipples in the changing rooms.
