A challenge: I'm going to give you a rubbish description of a dress

... I fell in love with on a woman across the road today.

The easy bits:
* navy jersey
* knee length

Not so easy:
* it had some unusual draping going on. It looked as though the bottom of the front of the dress had been picked up and knotted at the bustline. The hem was straight though, so I think that there must have been masses of extra material to allow for the bit tied to the bustline. <Do not know how to describe this at all, waffle, waffle, waffle>

It looked very cool and modern but easy to wear.

Googling navy jersey knot dress has got me NOWHERE. I need to call in the big guns....

That Dorothy Perkins number is the closest; albeit I think that the DP one the drapey bit draws from the whole of the skirt section, rather than a vertical loop purely from the hem. I also don't think it had a V-neck but that doesn't matter as it wasn't the neck line which drew me to it. I've put in a bid: thanks Finlaysmum.

It's definitely not the multiway type dress - all of their loopy bits relate to the bust section and straps.

Threepiece I will have a look at FF; I actually saw it on Thursday evening in Central London, in case anyone wants to put their hand up...?

Omg, was it me? I was wearing a navy jersey drape dress today. Knee length, straight hem, lightweight, loop of fabric at neck. Fat Face about 2 yrs ago.

Could it be the Emami dress? It's one of those dresses that can be worn in several ways.
You'll find loads of pictures of it on google.

It could be the Butter by Nadia wrap dress, that's convertible into lots of different shapes.

all saints?

I have one in red, got it a couple of years ago from Bon Prix. <unhelpful>

The dresses you can tie in different ways are "twobirds" dresses I think.

KnittedWaffle Fri 26-Jul-13 00:48:07

Dorothy Perkins no up to date link though

Twirlyhot Fri 26-Jul-13 00:37:27

MrsNoodleHead Fri 26-Jul-13 00:04:29

Chocolateteabag Fri 26-Jul-13 00:04:01

This is the one I saw on ebay

KnittedWaffle Fri 26-Jul-13 00:03:44

I was thinking phase eight too. I had a look earlier though and couldn't find anything. Off to look again.

MrsNoodleHead Fri 26-Jul-13 00:03:32

Sorry, nothing doing in Cos or P8...

Chocolateteabag Fri 26-Jul-13 00:02:11

Also a maternity dress in blue red or black but £65

Chocolateteabag Fri 26-Jul-13 00:00:49

Like this one? it's a maternity one which I like

If it is like this - will link a couple I've seen on eBay which are similar but not maternity ( and also not £139!)

MrsNoodleHead Thu 25-Jul-13 23:59:38

Ah, Twirlyhot, yes - that kind of thing. Well done! The jersey looked lovely and heavy though.

angeltulips Thu 25-Jul-13 23:58:16

I have a couple of cos dresses like that - try there?

LaurieFairyCake Thu 25-Jul-13 23:56:32

Phase eight have frocks like that

Twirlyhot Thu 25-Jul-13 23:56:26

Something like this but blue? It could be an old dress.

KingJoffrey Thu 25-Jul-13 23:55:12

Yes I know what you mean now. To google!

MrsNoodleHead Thu 25-Jul-13 23:54:04

KingJoffrey, can you see my profile?

KingJoffrey Thu 25-Jul-13 23:52:58

Ooh I have a dress like that! (Unhelpful) it had a floral print and was from River Island.
