I had one last year - always buy on the hottest day of the year_ and found it REALLY useful for mid season stuff or for shopping trips.
They have them again with a detachable hood, which might be good for some of you. obviously they have tried their hardest to make it look shit
I got lots of compliments about it and surprise with I revealed it was Tesco . PLUS no nasty barbour logo on it. NOt sure if this years without a belt is quite as nice, but its worth a look imo

Ah, thanks, finally found them in my size.

Now I've added one to the basket, and it says it's orange!!

They don't say how the hood deatches / attaches. I have a coat with a hood that's on press studs and every time I shift my bag on my shoulder it catches a press stud and leaves the hood hanging off. A zip would be much better.

Harriet the hood on this one doesn't come off. Nice and comfortable though, and true to size.

I tried this on in my Tescos today.

It looks much better in real life.

I put it back as I felt silly buying a winter coat in July, but come Winter I'm sure they won't be selling them anymore.

My 4yo told me I looked 'cool' in mine...... maybe something to do with the sleeves being turned back?? (it came packaged like that!)

Help! I have the waxed parka in navy and the waxed jacket in red in my basket. Should I just try both?

Also what are the sizes like? I'm a tall 12 with long arms but will want to wear with a jumper underneath - I should get a 14 then?

MoreThanWords · 28/07/2013 10:31

Oh bloody hell chocolateteabag I didn't see the jackets - only the parka! Why does it look a gorgeous shade of purple, but say red? Same reason my navy one came up as "orange" perhaps ...

LadyMilfordHaven · 28/07/2013 11:22

Last years was a 12. I regretted it a bit

Have ordered both - yep weirdly the Navy parka is "orange" and the dark purply red jacket is just "red" - will report back when they come

Have ordered the 14 in both - thanks LMH for the tip by the way. I would never have thought to look at the jackets section in TescoFlowers

Right, got both today and...

The "orange" Navy Parka is a bit meh for me - very thin and unlined, not very "waxed" - it's going back without even being tried on.

BUT the red waxed Jacket is lovely! It's a nice oxblood red like in the picture, size 14 fits me well - sleeves are decent length etc and the hood although not adjustable at least comes over my forehead. All in all an autumn keeper for me

Thanks again Lady M Thanks

It's got the detachable hood - not sure Tesco likes us to link their Stuff

That black seamed jacket would be worth a try if I had any need, but currently pregnant and live in the sticks so will stick with the boring one.
