For dd's first holy communion, I dont do frills, or lacey stuff and we thought this one was nice.

I am sending cheque today so all your opinions gratefully received

It's lovely Mosschops. It's very pretty - my dd (nearly 8) would love to wear something like that.

ah thanks, glad everyone approves, dont want all the family tutting at my choice of dress.

You dont think it's too bridesmaid-y then? Her veil has a cross on it if thats any compensation

nope not bridesmaidy at all

I always think communion dresses look bridish/bridesmaidish so not best person to give advice. It's very sophisticated though. Looks like a designer mini brides dress rather than a net curtain ensemble.

At our church girls are asked not to wear sleeveless dresses - maybe check that's not the case at yours?

I was just about to say the same as mrsdarcy - your DD might need a bolero type short sleeved jacket to cover up bare arms.
It is a lovely dress though.

Lovely on anyone over 12.
Not sure about the bare top bit though.
Deffo needs a little jacket of some sort.

oh your worrying me now. All the dresses I saw were sleeveless apart from the frumpy, lacey frilly ones which i couldnt buy.

They are ok with sleeveless, as my friends dd took hers in Yr 3 and said they all had sleeveless dresses (because I did wonder too)

not v experienced in first communion stuff myself so had assumed \link{http://www.bhs.co.uk/wedding/bhs_images/white/X012-P7-05.jpg\this} kind of thing was the norm...

I think it is gorgous not over the top very simple.Only you will know whether your daughter can carry a sleeveless dress off and not look too old(IYKWIM)
I think she will look fantastic

I was at my neices holy communion and qute a few had sleeveless dresses but they did tend to cover up a bit with a bolero jacket or a little cardigan.

hopefully she will be ok with that sheer wrap over the top. She is not a slutty 10 year old (like you see some of them) so I think she will just look very pretty, she has a little veil with a cross on and flat white shoes and white socks
