I spotted a Biba dress in a vintage shop but I haven't managed to find out anything about it with a search online. I would like to know if it is an original or later reissue Biba. I now realise from that search that I need to check the label which will go back and do but meanwhile does anyone have any info on a blue slinky halter maxi dress which has the Biba logo integrated within the fabric and a collar that is a metal circle that fastens at the back (a bit like a plain hoop necklace). It is on sale for around £50. A bit of a long shot but thought I would see if anyone is good on vintage fashion here. Sorry I didn't take a photo and my search has not come up with this particular dress.

But £50 is a great price, even for repro Confused
I'm assuming it's in decent condition. Do you love it? Does it fit well?

That's not original Biba. It's the firm that bought the label in the 90s - loads of people have bought the label at some stage.

How do I know? I used to work next to their shop in Covent Garden - I had that dress in black....

What colour blue is the dress? The original Biba colours were very sludgey i.e. dusty pink

Thanks for the really useful tips so it sounds like a later dress bcc (great name!) I was hoping someone had seen or owned one like it. I did realise that the label had been taken over several times with the most recent H of F being the most successful so far and I think Barbara Hulaniki is advising. I went to the Biba exhibition in Brighton which was fascinating and I have a love of vintage 70s. Might show too many lumps and bumps on me I think but it's great. The blue is a darkish colour. I think I will go back and have another look anyway. I am so impressed with such amazing and quick knowledge on here. Thanks.
