St Tropex fake tan - anyone ever had 'snakeskin' effect?

HI I had a professional St Tropez fake tan ,(my first ever ) but the beautician has been doing it for years . its fine everywhere except on my calves , which despite regular exfoliation and moisturising over the last couple of weeks , has gone a strange 'snakeskin ' effect with darker and lighter areas in a sort of diamond pattern , .. .

In effect its like it hasn't really taken in a lot of patches on my calves and they do look like my skin is cracked ( only there aren't any cracks and my skin is all really smooth !!) . The beautician said she had never seen it do that before ..

I'm not upset , its one of those things and looks ok from a distance and hell, it will wear off in a week or so , but has this happened to anyone else .?

Its just my lower legs, I use an epilady , and the skin is not flaky at all.. I am usually very white though and dont tan really ..

Weird or what?

I just use the cheapo St Moritz with a glove and mine goes like that after a few days. I just assumed it was dryness of the skin but feeling it, my legs don't feel very dry. It is my shins.
