I need a complete 'classically beautiful' outfit for Tues - help!

Hi everyone, I am going out to an art exhibition opening on Tues night and am treating myself to a complete new outfit (poss even jewellery if I can afford)

I am a winter? so a friend has told me v tall and a 16ish top and 12 bottom.

I have in my head a Grecian type white dress as I suit white and grecian/roman sort of ties in with the art angle tho I quite like twenties style too (art deco) and very strong colours also suit me.

So far I've not found any full length ones that don't stop half mast on my ankles or even mid calf

Can anyone help?

Not white, but how about this maxi-dress. You could accessorise it easily!

What's your budget?

I like that one but I'm not keen on strapless as being busty I need support

Budget is is about £200 but that needs to be everything I hardly ever buy new clothes for myself but that's why I like classical pieces that aren't going to 'date' too much

I like this but not in pink (and doesn't give length)

But the general style of it is lovely and price is spot on

tethers thank you! The second and third Biba's are beautiful and although I had imagined white a red would suit me too. Am going to ring our HOF and see if they have those in stock to try on

I had found myself looking at bridal ones too as they seemed to fit the style.

I have a tan atm so gold/pink tones/beige I think might be too 'all over tone'

Top shop looks the part but no drop length so I would be worried it would fall short.

Am trawling through HOF site now as the ones you picked from there are nicest and I'm hoping I can find similar closer to the budget

I am liking the dark grey ones, not sure if I suit them but not ruling them out. The blue is nice and tho I'm more of a silver I had gold accessories in mind for some reason. Going to have quick look on tk maxx

I am looking online but prefer to buy instore because I am always a bit worried what looks good on the screen won't sit right on me Blush

grr shops that don't have prices online. I am now making myself Sad this is why I hardly ever buy myself new things.

Am googling shoes now to cheer myself [http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_053010810220_-1 gold]] is the definite choice for accessories so i might find shoes and then get dress to match instead of the other way round

Is it definitely really smart? I have been to exhibition openings where people have been in jeans. I would definitely veer towards something like the Mary Portas dresses that would fit in whatever everyone else is wearing.

Someone posted this Michael Kors one on another thread which looks great.

I know it's not formal and I know lots of people will be wearing jeans, it's a bi annual event so I should have been more prepared

I always dress up tho and, while no-one would mind if I didn't, I think it benefits my business to make the effort and be noticed more

I like the style of the Kors but I have lots of black and am looking for something bolder

thoughts?
