  1. Do you like this scarf?

  1. Would the colours work on a Winter, ie are they 'ice' or 'pastel'?

I only qualify for the last criteria sorry, but I can tell you that I have two Becksondergaard scarves of the same composition as that one and they are absolutely gorgeous, soft, warm, light and huge.

And also if you have a Tkmaxx, check the scarf dept, as I would imagine that is where that one originated from, they may have had some new stock in :)

Love the scarf but it is slightly more summery than wintery - the colours are quite muted.

I'm not convinced those colours would work on a winter. The grey would if it's one of your best colours but the lilac stars are wrong.

Don't think it's quite bright enough for a winter - it wouldn't be the type of colours I'd gravitate towards.
That said - who cares? It's a pretty scarf, so if you like it, get it!

Definitely Summer, not Winter. It is gorgeous, isn't it?

Report
Keztrel · 10/06/2013 10:24

I'm tempted Faddy cos I love it but it's going to be right next to my face, and I'm definitely not a summer-leaning winter...but maybe I'm taking my colours too seriously... Might get it if the price doesn't go up too much, and will def check out TK Maxx!

Thanks Hopefully for the definitive answer :)

If anyone's seen a scarf with ice colours in it please let me know!

I don't think the colours are clear enough for a winter, this would be better. And the combo of mint/lilac isn't great IMO, winter or summer...

That's lovely Perseis, but anything resembling cream or beige looks hideous on me - it needs to be bright white.

I'm only an interested dabbler in all of this colours business - I've never gotten it professionally done. But I will tell you what a friend of mine was wearing yesterday. She is very beautiful and I think probably a Clear Winter? (Same colouring as Megan Fox). Anyway, I just googled 'clear winter colour palette' and everything she was wearing was on it:

An icy pink marl sleeveless tank top - very neutral-y coloured
Emerald turquoise skinny jeans
Flipflops with fuschia toenails

My rambling point is: not sure what kind of Winter you are, but clearer/brighter shades of the colour combo in your scarf (i.e emerald turquoise + fuschia vs mint +violet) look AMAZING together on a Winter.

I think I'm a jewel winter... fuchsia, emerald, scarlet etc work on me - I'm more Snow White-ish colouring than tanned and Megan Fox-y. Your friend's outfit sounds great, and that's a v useful palette, thank you!

Maybe this one would be better on me? Not that I'm paying £69 for it...

Are these colours maybe a bit dull for a winter? here

Yes, it was a great outfit, the colours absolutely popped with her deep tan Envy Envy Envy

I am almost certain I'm a Winter (definitely cool colouring and gravitate towards jewel shades like you) but I would lovvvvvvvvvve to get this confirmed. However, I'm not in the U.K. and I couldn't be sure it would be done right. So I just continue to dabble :)

Anyway I often get given scarves as gifts, and if they're too 'warm' or muddy I try to make them work with a brighter coloured top.

This one might work better.

MadAboutHotChoc · 10/06/2013 11:12

The navy and green would work - as long as the green is a real emerald in real life.

MadAboutHotChoc · 10/06/2013 11:13

The blue in the scarf I linked looks cobalty and the grey is a good winter neutral.

MadAboutHotChoc · 10/06/2013 11:14

I am sure I have seen grey with white stars (or vice versa) scarves around - this would work well for a Spring/summer outfit.

I love that navy and green one but as madchoc says, it needs to be a bright emerald green.

Report
Keztrel · 10/06/2013 11:33

Love the one you linked MadChoc. I hadn't thought about the green in the one I linked not being emerald - to my eye all bright darkish greens are emerald - I think I need to do some more colour studying!

Hmm, I've changed my mind about that navy and green one I linked. Don't think I like green and blue together, not those shades anyway.

I adore them both Perseis, more than the star ones in fact! This is dangerous, don't get me perusing Becksondergaards website! :) I really don't want to pay over £40 for a scarf. And yet I want it to be stunning and exactly the right colours Grin

Perseis I'm so sorry I'm an idiot, I was looking at those scarves on my phone where the picture is tiny and didn't realise the 'birds on the wire' one isn't Becksondergaard! Am thinking about getting it, but need to work out if the colour is right first... not sure if it's more of an autumn greeny blue...

Another question for Winters/colour experts... Are the colours in this scarf winter-suitable if I get the one with the white background?

Also love the plum colour of this one but suspect the stars will be too cream.
