Thanks, I'm in the same boat, I'd ideally like to wear Monsoon all the time but my budget doesn't allow. Will take a look. Also the ASOS curve range can be quite good.

Not my cup of tea at all. Seem similar quality and target market to Evans. Prefer to go for non-specialist plus size retailers who still go up to bigger sizes, eg Boden.

Been buying from yours for years now. Our local store is lovely and the ladies know my leg length and size and its like having a personal shopper when I go in!!!!!!

Steffanoid Wed 22-May-13 17:54:43

asos curve is my fave, they've just started to stock new look inspire too

amothersplaceisinthewrong Wed 22-May-13 17:56:35

New look inspire is cheap, badly made, I'll fitting tat.

QueenOfCats Wed 22-May-13 18:07:22

*ill, obviously

EsmeWeatherwax Wed 22-May-13 18:10:13

I use yours clothing too. Some of their stuff is crap, but for tshirts hoodies etc they're great. Trousers aren't long enough for me so never got any from them.

I shop in new look inspire but I agree its shit. Some of the things are truely hideous. I find it has got quite frumpy lately too.

I am 25. 5ft10 and a size 22. Its impossible to find clothes. Places like Next or DP that do up to a 22 I find arent generous at all.

Bonkerz Wed 22-May-13 22:08:44

Yours do various trousers lengths. I'm only a 24in inside leg but they do 3 or 4 lengths!

JennySense Wed 22-May-13 22:19:19

There's Matalan - some of the dresses are really nice and simple - none of that sequinny cr@p and they go up to size 30.

polyhymnia Wed 22-May-13 22:28:31

wanna Boden do 22 and Long length. I'm 5'9 and get quite a lot there. Don't agree with OP that they are consistently 'not generous'. They vary -some styles more generous than others. The measurements and reviews on site are helpful.

Some of their stuff might be too 'old' for you but again probably not all.
New Look Evans Yours all poor quality IMO. And poor quality stuff is less forgiving in larger sizes IMO.

OneLittleLady Wed 22-May-13 22:32:52

Weird, everything I've bought in the new look inspire range has been brilliant. I don't know if different stores get different parts of the range but there's been very little in the way of 'frumpy' stuff in my local store. That said, I only wear certain items as I can still fit in the normal range for most things so I only have limited experience.

QueenOfCats Wed 22-May-13 22:34:19

I'm a size 22 and 5ft nothing hmm

I can't find ANYTHING that looks got on me and usually end up feeling like an overstuffed sack

MrsSchadenfreude Wed 22-May-13 22:36:49

Horrible. When will people understand that us porkers don't want high necks and no sleeves?

I agree with whoever said to buy stuff from mainstream shops if possible, not Fat Shops like Evans (which used to be called Evans Oursize, although that was in the days where mainstream shops stopped at size 14). I buy from Boden, Windsmoor, Monsoon for work/more formal stuff. I've got the odd piece from Chesca (although a lot of their stuff is very odd indeed) but tend to avoid Fat Shops like the plague. Unstylish, too much polyester, and just downright hideous. Ulla Popken wins my award for the most hideous clothing shop ever - they are unable to produce anything without putting sparkly bits or a cartoon or large flower on it.

piprabbit Wed 22-May-13 22:39:59

Sainsbury's stock up to a 24 in many of their mainstream styles. I'm a bit of a convert.

MandCo's plus range has the odd nice item.

Matalan have their Rogers & Rogers range - which as it is summer is stocking a range of trousers and jumpers in black, navy and sludge green shock.

polyhymnia Wed 22-May-13 22:45:41

100% agree about Ulla Popken - truly awful.
I am a great believer in avoiding 'special fat ' retailers at all costs. Only exception iswanna Boden go up to 22 and do a long length. I'm 5'9 and get quite a lit of stuff there.

Marina Rinaldi the Maxmara plus line when I can afford it.

Chesca doesn't work for me.

M and S Autograph used to be OK for some basics but less good recently.

I buy all my jeans from NYDJ ( not the mum styles - dark denim and black skinnies. Not cheap though.

polyhymnia Wed 22-May-13 22:51:40

Sorry ignore the bit from wannato 'there' in my post! It crept in from earlier post.
Just meant I avoid at all costs all specialist plus retailers except one (Marina Rinaldi) and also I avoid the plus size lines of cheap down market retailers like New Look etc etc.

My friend (about 5'4" and size 20ish) gets lovely stuff online from us retailers, there's one called i-Gigi (I think!) that has GORGEOUS stuff. Expensive but for something special def worth it.

AlanMoore Wed 22-May-13 22:55:08

I was impressed with my mums new dress from yours, it's lovely! I am an 'inbetweenie' and it looks crap on me sad
