H & M rant

Stupid bloody shop!

I ordered a few things THREE weeks ago where it automatically defaulted me to Monthly Payment which I never ever do.

They won't deliver to a work address and the Customer Service helpline said that they can't change the payment type now and I have to go onto Monthly Payment as I selected it, which I didn't, and it will charge me £1.75 which I object to.

Also delivery will take up to six days as of today so that's basically a month in waiting. Grrr.

God don't get me started. This happened to me but they did take me off the monthly payment thing as I kept on and on and on at them.

They then spotted that I'd been using loads of codes from mumsnet S&B thrads and emailed me quite aggressively saying I'd had no right to use those codes. You are only supposed to use the ones they send directly to you apparently Hmm

So because they can't sort out a computer system that only allows your allocated codes to go through when you're checking out, that apparently gives them the right to email me basically calling me a thief.

I don't use them online any more.

Really?!

But those codes are all over the internet! In fact, I used them on my order.

But I probably won't be using them again in the future.

schobe - I got a snotty email once when I put in an order using codes from here. Just means I never buy anything from them anymore, online or instore, due to their crappy customer services.

I have never come across such an awful company when it comes to placing orders online. I placed a large order which they delivered in good time, however a pair of knickers took 2 months to arrive, from the same order!!! It took a full month to get a refund also.

And if you take your order in to the store for a refund you only get a credit note! H+M is one store that I do buy from regularly, however there is no chance in hell I will ever order over the internet. It really isn't worth the hassle.

I have used the codes about 6 times. I have bought lots of velvet cushion covers which I love and some boys plimsolls but for me as with the codes off they are practically giving them away.

Report
schobe · 22/05/2013 10:20

Yes I did point out that the codes were freely available to all, but no they were set on telling me that they would be watching my account closely.

Obvious bullshit as well as not exactly from the customer services instruction manual.

Lovely people.

Oh yes, and then you order things that randomly take 6 months to arrive despite being paid for on the day of order (when they randomly let you pay rather than putting you on a monthly payment account).

So am I right in thinking that they DO try to get you to do the Monthly Payment by default?

The Customer Services (ha!) girl, and I'm pretty sure she was very young, said that there would have been a drop down menu for me to select immediate payment and there wasn't.

They are absolutely crap. Took 6 weeks to refund me something after taking 3 months to send it to me in the first place (when it had originally said immediate despatch).

I will never ever order from them again. Which is a shame as I love their shops!

I just assumed there was probably a default setting or a pre-ticked box for a monthly account that i hadn't noticed.

It had certainly never been there before though. They're sneaky.

Report
showtunesgirl · 22/05/2013 10:36

Imagine how much money they will be making then from those sneaky charges? It's only £1.75 but it all adds up if they are duping lots of customers.

I don't know how you lot find anything on their website to order. I go on and can only find 2 tops and a pair of trousers. Its the most un user friendly site going.

Viva, I'm not buying for me but for DD. Their kids clothes are really quite nice and one of the few places that don't have wall to wall pink for girls!

I gave up on their website when I tried to buy a skirt and it asked me to tick a box to say I was over 18, and then when I ticked it it froze and wouldn't do anything else. It was infuriating!

I'm very tempted to tweet them this thread.

I was also put on that monthly payment thing without realising at first, so I went in and cancelled the order then re-ordered using a card. STILL waiting for a skirt that I ordered nearly 2 months ago and have actually been and bought it from the store in the mean time! Won;t be using them again online.

ShowTunesGirl - I like their clothes in the shops. What I mean is that I can't navigate their website to find stuff.

The mail order side is truly awful.

I won't order from them anymore. Takes weeks, if not months, to despatch, they cocked the order up, over charged me on postage, some didn't turn up (am still chasing a refund). Utter shite.

toffeefee · 22/05/2013 11:10

They must have heard me... skirt's just been posted through the letter box!

showtunesgirl · 22/05/2013 11:17

Ha! But it DID take two months though didn't it?

I won't order from them anymore as everything I want takes ages or is awaiting stock. I have 2 h&m's nearby but only ever used them online because I found good discount codes online.

A word of warning, look on your account settings and set it so that you don't receive mail from them, unless want a book sent literaly all the time!

I have just experienced the same problems with them in the monthly payment method. Not impressed with them at all and will not use on line again. Ordered two pairs of matetnity trousers which were poor quality now have the drama of returning them.

plentyofsoap, try Peacocks for comfy maternity trousers.

I also unwittingly went on their monthly invoice thing. I object to paying £1.75 for the "privilege".

I cba to quibble as it's for £3.75 but I definitely won't be shopping there again.
