Quirky shoes

Finally found a dress I love for a wedding in August, it's a dark blue/grey drapey silk sleeveless shift - would love some really bright sandals/shoes and a bag to go with it - something quirky and unusual (need to be able to walk though - I'm 41 so don't want drag-queen platforms Grin)

help?

Irregular Choice?

If you want really quirky, perhaps look at Irregular Choice or Poetic License. They are pricey but oh so comfortable

oooh, thanks for super-fast suggestions! just had a look, irregular choice veering rather too far into bonkers for me, poetic licence better, will have a closer look. more suggestions welcome!

have always played fairly safe with shoe colours - every variation on a black heel in my wardrobe, just fancy something impractical and frivolous!

See i just thought go for a mad colour but having looked up Irregular Choice, I see I am WAY out!! They really are bonkers!

I was going to suggest yellow here or printed here or something like this.

Thank you petit - i think you might be right - a bold colour might be what i'm looking for. Jimmy choo's divine but way out of my price range Sad however i really liked the topshop ones - not somewhere i would have thought to look but spotted these unconvinced by that particular colour but love the style.

Quirkiest shoes I have seen recently are these www.schuh.co.uk/prdsearch.aspx?searchterm=hakes&sterm=hakes&js=1 think they are a bit too quirky for me though Grin

Bloody hell Jam I LOVE those shoes. I wonder whether they would be hideously uncomfortable? (And also I wonder whether I would even care...)

Vivienne Westwood for Melissa lady dragon shoes are lovely

Also try Iron Fist or TUK - may be a bit on the "gothy" side.

Miss L Fire shoes are lovely if you like retro styles. They all have memory foam insoles now too so quite comfy.

If you need another suggestion these zara shoes are fab!

Really liked the Topshop ones you linked to and love gruffalo's Zara pair. Extraordinary really is the word for the other pair but, hey, wouldn't it be boring if we all liked the same things??!

Oo report back please! I can't walk in normal heels so no hope in those.

Which colour did you go for?

BlameItOnTheBogey · 22/05/2013 23:41

Oh no. Too big? Too small? Mine haven't arrived yet, I really hope they fit.

The frame doesn't fit round the shape of my foot - presses onto the front. The heel surround is amazingly comfortable but the height combined with how hard the frame is just means I just can't walk in them :-( Very sad indeed.

So now I'm looking for other options. I loved the united nude website, thanks slug, some stunning shoes! A bit more than I can reasonably spend though sadly. So the search continues....

Looking again i'm realising I don't want quirky, I want statement shoes. Something really contemporary and with proper wow factor - the Julian hakes would have been perfect if they'd fitted. United nude very close. Any other brands to investigate?

Oh sorry they don't fit either of you Sad Do you think they would have been comfortable (or at least not to painful) had they fitted?

Not what you are looking for but this heel is weird

I shall post if I find anymore Smile
