Best treatment for really dry, wrinkly looking hands ?

I'm obsessive about putting on hand cream as i can't bear the feeling of dry hands but my hands are still really dry! I do a lot of washing hands, cleaning etc (kids, nappies, the usual chore-laden mum's lot) and i suppose my hands are weathered from walking with a buggy.
Any tips?

I too get through a lot of hand cream - combination of young children and all the washing that entails and working in a bar 3 nights a week, means I've had really bad chapped / cracked hands and dry, peeling nails. Recently found a wonder hand cream which has worked for me. It's a garnier one, body repair hand cream in a red tube This boots link has mixed reviews, so it obviously doesn't suit everyone!

Clarins hand cream is always on my wish list [sigh]

Try the hemp one from the Body Shop and particularly try it last thing at night before sleeping in cotton gloves (search eBay). I find this really helps my very dry hands.

My grandad (!) recommended Neutrogena when I was getting really dry hands from constantly washing them (worked in hospital labs). It was very good! Also works well on weather-chapped hands (I believe the idea is that it was developed for Norwegian fishermen, so it's designed for the toughest challenges!)

try Crabtree & Evlyn (sp?). The gardeners one is particularly good and the spa one smells divine and works wonders on my very dry hands.

I'm older than you but not 90 years old which is what the age of my hands look like.
I am thinking of using one of these peeling creams like the youtube video, but you would need to use sunscreener afterwards I should think.

I have tried sooo many different hand creams and i find this one good www.boots.com/en/Aveeno-Hand-Cream-75ml_983776/ . The problem i have with a lot of the hand creams produced for very dry skin is that they're so greasy. I've tried the Neutrogena one before and i couldn't use it as it was too greasy for me. I got given the Clarins one as a Christmas present and it was great but the Aveeno one i've mentioned is just as good

Thanks all. Lots of good suggestions . I'm going to look for cotton gloves and try hemp , and if that doesn't work, clarins (through desperation tho as it is pricey).
My hands have always been last on my to do list ....

Lidl. SOS hand cream brilliant and about a quid. I'm a convert from Claris. It's very sticky feels a bit like Vaseline texture but soaks in quick.

I had really dry, cracked, bleeding hands until recently when I read that using a bar of soap instead of liquid soap was better for your hands. I started using a bar about three weeks ago and as I hate all hand creams I haven't used any if that but my hands actually look amazing .

I am so impressed by this as I had got to the point where steroid cream wasn't really working and Boots pharmacy wouldn't recommend a hand cream until I had seen a doctor as they were bleeding so much at the time.

I also have dry hands so I use Nivea hand cream the one with Q10 in it. It seems to do the job and its not expensive like some hand creams.

mine were really cracked until about a month ago
i have fixed them with Aveeno hand creme, and wearing CSI type gloves to do anything involving cold/wet/chemicals.

Aveeno and E45 are OK for use after hand-washing, but body shop hemp is best for me (terrible dry wrinkly hands, rest of me is OK!) it has been great for DH's terrible exzema too. Think the excema charity recommend having a basic emollient cream for frequent use then a tougher (oiler?) one for night / flare-ups. They had a list of products on their site.

Johnsons 24 hour in the pink tube is very good ( and cheap) as is the very greasy Nutrogena foot cream. I tried the Hemp one. It was ok.

Oilatum cream is fantastic. I buy the one in a small tube, about £2.50 or so at the pharmacy. It goes in really quickly, does not leave my hands greasy and has no smell.

Rose hip oil over night has helped mine a lot, in theory it should be good as it contains antioxidants/vitamin A and fatty acids so it's moisturising as well as helps to reverse sun damage.

I use a combination of aveeno and weleda skin food.
aveeno all through the day and a layer of skin food on top over night and after cleaning/gardening.

Thanks all. Sorry if a dim question, but what are CS1 gloves? Are they just washing up gloves?
Ha ha Dozer, The rest of me is not as bad as my hands either!
I used to think it a waste of time to wear sun cream on my hands but wish I had now. The Edwardian ladies wore gloves all the time, maybe I'll give it a go...

Dilidali I bought the Oilatum cream on your advice so am hoping it will make a difference to my 90 year old looking hands. I did find it greasy though.
