... it shouldn't look like it does!

I have medium brown hair. Total middle of the road natural hair colour that's a bit brown and a bit muddy dishwater.

So, from previous experience I know if I get a medium brown hair colour it can go a bit too dark on my hair and leave me looking washed out.

So i have put on a nice n easy pale brown colour. Not golden, not warm or chesnut, just plain brown.

My hair, inexplicably, looks like [[http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=copper+hair+colours&hl=en&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=4w6MUamjKKGP0AXw_4D4Ag&sqi=2&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1366&bih=667#imgrc=aDPwCqYrpsGZ0M%3A%3BJVPumpmQ3N-PhM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.frm2013.com%252Fattachments%252Fmoda-731d1324440563%252Fmajuscule-occupation-hairstyles-that-hold-wonderful-apologize.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.frm2013.com%252Fmoda%252F119-majuscule-occupation-hairstyles-that-hold-wonderful-apologize.html%3B344%3B344 this

That means there's a lot of warmth in your natural colour. I'm afraid your best bet is to have it professionally corrected.

My hairdresser just pisses himself laughing at me. Heknows my haircut is my treat and getting it colour corrected is a bit over budget at the mo, he'spretty cool and tells me which dyes will sort out errors i've made in the past. Bugger. Am a very drab dresser and don't seek attention with my appearance so feel a bit like I have glam rock hair.Fingers crossed a good cut will help!

you have my sympathy, have had a fair few colouring disasters myself. most of which were at the mercy of nice n easy too, i avoid that brand like the plague now.

Is it too much to dye it twicein 2 days? Might get an ashmedium brown nice n easy and go over it...

just to warn you, i've used nice n easy ash brown and it made my normally dark ash blonde go almost black it was so dark.

I think that's a nice colour.

No don't dye it again for at least a month.

Off the shelves dyes have bleach in them. Bleaching twice in a couple days will not be good at all for your hair.

Sorry!

I hear Head & Shoulders is a great colour stripper. Maybe wash your hair a lot with that.

I've dyed my hair 4 times in the space of a week before & my hair was fine, I used nice n easy permanent colours too!

If you really can't live with the copper colours ( I was copper colour last year, loved it) then you could try light ash brown in nice n easy semi permanent, that way you won't risk it going too dark and it will tone down the copper tones.

I think that accidental colour is lovely :)

You could put a semi permanent nice and easy ash colour on it as a toner if you wanted, but permanent dye probably a bit much straight away.

aw, thanks everyone for your replies!

Even dh,who is the most diplomatic man in the worls and doesn't care what I look like said 'Oh I didn't notice you'ddyed your haor.. its a nice colour, but, er, you do really suit darker hair, I'm not saying that looks awful its just darkl hair is you, really'.That confirmed all my suspiciosn and I am back in my comfort zone with a nice n easy medium ash bron on my hair Blush

Luckily I don't use and other treatments or hairdryers or straightners on my hair so its it pretty good condition and seems to have coped with the two hair dyes!
