Cheaper alternative to Diorshow mascara?

Just that really, am on maternity leave and trying to save all my pennies so definitely cannot justify £22ish on a mascara.... Don't like Clinique mascara, hate that maybelline pink one but otherwise am open to suggestions! Like a mascara that volumises and thickens rather than lengthens.

TIA

Have tried the no.7 ones too, they're pants IMO. Am not a male Ho snob, but my Dior mascara was my treat to my make up bag, but seeing as I haven't worn make up for three weeks now either, can't spend that much on a product I won't even use everyday....

I used to use Diorshow too and like the following (think they give similar effect):

Mally mascara from QVC. £22 but you get two and can return after a months use if not good

MAC Plush Lash. Wand a bit short but builds volume nicely

Maybelline The Falsies is not bad if you need something cheap. Formula a bit wet but ok.

Have Max Factor 2000 calorie one to try next! I'm not keen on those rubbery/plasticky wands as i find they clump and deposit too much product on. I like an old fashioned densely bristled brush for applying thin layers and building volume.

Bourjous volume clubbing is good, you can get an ultra black one too. Really thick and a pain to get off but makes my eyelashes 'big'.

Have you tried Max Factor Masterpiece Max (black tube) it's pretty good ? I always end up going back to this after faffing about with L'Oreal and Maybelline. Can't bring myself to spend £20 or more on a mascara when they inevitably dry out in 8 weeks or so...

I once forgot my make up bag when I had gone away for the night for work, and needed to buy some cheap makeup to use. I love Diorshow, but bought a Rimmel mascara that day and honestly, it's great, I was so surprised. It's called volume flash scandaleyes, it he packaging is black and orange. I bought it in 'extreme black' and it's brill, really thickening and volumising.
