Babyliss Big Hair? I tried using mine here in Canada and it was really naff! Better to stick with a locally bought/borrowed hairdryer.

No, a BBH bought in Europe is for 230v and does not work unless you also get a voltage transformer. If you travel to US often, it's probably easier to get another one for 110v:

ah thanks as I expected
I find even the high wattage hairdryers are useless in Canada , my mum has one
how on earth do they get a decent blow dry over there?
