Summer Shoes for daughter

Our 6 year old usually wears Crocs around the garden or running around the park. I know these are supposedly the work of the devil but she finds them comfortable and they are easy to slip on and off.

She is now a size 13 or size 1 - Not sure which because we can find few shoes in any shops in this size, there seems to be a dearth of shoes between a 12 and 2. We did try the Junior 1 size of the Crocs but they are about an inch wider than the Childs 12/13 so unless she grows very fat feet she will never fit into them.

So, I am not sure what to buy her for her running around shoes. Just want some easy slip-ons that are preferably not canvas and not 'princessy'. At her size we seem to be looking at quite grown up shoes.

Having been stung by buying mail-order because shops don't stock her size, I am keen for recommendations from an actual high street shop.

Oh, and a nice flexible sole - seems that so many are like a hard piece of rubber with no flex for the foot.

Dd has some lace up pumps from m&s. A bit sturdier than converse. She has several pairs now including navy blue glitter ones which were met with aporoval.

Next have some slip on navy and cream striped ones. H&m have elasticated slip on ones as do cath kidston and boden.

Do they have to be real Crocs? Sports Direct sell mock crocs (Tuna or something) as do most of the supermarkets, Next and Matalan. Those plastic clogs might be ugly but they are just so practical!!

Also have you tried other models of crocs? The baballet flats are slim fitting as are the mary jane ones.

We did look at mock Crocs but the soles are really hard and inflexible - may as well be a plank of wood with a rubber coating - and I'm thinking this can't be good for the foot. We bought some Next ones for her brother and have replaced them with the real thing. I was quite surprised at how rubbish they are.

The ones we bought for DD are the Crocbands - will look at the alternative styles.
Will take a look at M&S again (but last time had absolutely zero in her size), Next and H&M.

I know you don't want canvas but I have just got my daughter these for running around Nan's garden /down to the beach. They can be washed too - she has them in black for school plimsolls but they were so very cheap I got them in white too. There are not many well fitting comfortable reasonably priced shoes out there unfortunately , I did manage to pick her up a nice pair of sandals from the Clarks outlet too so hopefully she will be ok this summer.
