Has anyone tried the Warehouse Try Me On thing?

It's so depressing. I'm 5ft 5 and 10 stone so don't feel fat. But when I compare my Me Model with the 5ft 10 size 10 model the difference is so stark. No wonder I always feel frumpy next to my taller friends even if the clothes look great on the website. I'd have to weigh about 8 stone to get the proportions the same. Should I just accept the hefty rugby player look? grin

God, I've just gone on this and it is a bit depressing! I am 5ft 8 and size 10/12 and I look pretty chunky compared to the model.

That model must be a size 8! Why can't they use a more realistically sized model?

bigTillyMint Sat 27-Apr-13 09:51:20

And why does the Me Model wear those goofy looking ballet flats - it doesn't help at allhmm

Househunter Sat 27-Apr-13 09:55:40

Mine was wearing heels but still looked frumpy. Well, its put me off buying anything so at least it's saving me money!

blibblibs Sat 27-Apr-13 09:58:36

Mine has heels on, I just hope I don't look that dumpy in real life smile

Has shown why I should never ever ever wear leggings though

FunnyLittleFrog Sat 27-Apr-13 10:00:24

Oh God! I'm same size as bigTillyMint and the stuff looks shocking! I am sure that I don't look as hefty as that. Anyway, it's not selling me the dresses I was looking at!

The horrible thing is I think it's probably quite accurate. I've often gone out thinking I look pretty good (flattering mirrors at home) then feel a bit gutted when I see photos but I've been putting it down to bad angles. Now I see its reality - arrgghh!

bigTillyMint Sat 27-Apr-13 10:10:50

Glad it's not just me FLF - I don't usually look that bad in photos!

Oh well, it's saving me money at least!

bigTillyMint Sat 27-Apr-13 10:13:20

Plus on some of the clothing, their suggested fit is too large (nearly always on my waist and bust!) on the suggested sizes thinghmm

FunnyLittleFrog Sat 27-Apr-13 10:21:39

Hmm. Too large round hips on me

I just tried a dress on and it made my breasts drop to my waist

LaFataTurchina Sat 27-Apr-13 11:28:40

I think it's quite accurate.

I just had a go - tried on a dress in a style I tend to buy, and it came out looking nice on the model, she wore my usual size but it was a teeny bit too long - like most dresses are on me (I'm 5'3").

Did the same with a top that I knew would look awful on me and it looked bad on the model too.

Mmmm I'm not clear how they can claim an accurate model of you without your leg length. I'm 5ft9 with 32" legs and yet my model looks really dumpy. Also the way the models arms are stuck outwards instantly makes it look wrong. Great idea, needs work I reckon! I don't dare put my own face on it - scary. Not convinced I'm the size they say either. I can't get my bum in a size 12.....

bigTillyMint Sat 27-Apr-13 12:15:47

shopa, I have 33" legs and my wait is about a size smaller than my hips IYSWIM, yet I look dumpy and thick waited on the modelconfused

shopafrolic Sat 27-Apr-13 13:11:28

Perhaps we're all delusional grin

Clure Sat 27-Apr-13 14:41:37

just tried it. I'm a petite size 6 and 5'1 and on some of the try me on looks I look like a chunk! hmm

Bloody hell I know exactly what you mean! If that's supposed to be a marketing tool then someone's got it very wrong.

bigTillyMint Sun 28-Apr-13 08:15:49

Remusgrin - no chance of that for me!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Sun 28-Apr-13 11:21:00

Well if mine leap far enough, Tilly, you can have them!

bigTillyMint Sun 28-Apr-13 11:26:54

Has anyone managed to find out what measurement the model really has? She must be 6foot and a size 6, methinks!
